No supersizing here
You don't want any of that super sized bollocks here. No sir. Televisions should be seen and heard, but not seen to be fat. They should be skinny like the best anorexic model. That's how we like our TVs isn't it? Yes it is. So here we go, some of the sexiest skinny televisions ever to help us.
Hitachi UT model TVs
UT for Ultra Thin...also known as Woo
The above mentiened Hitachi UT tv is so thin that it does away with conventional TV requirements like tuner and SCART inputs. Really this is little more than a glorified monitor. However it would suit people who use an external satellite or cable television digital box to take care of their tuner requirements. However, you might want to think again before investing in one of these because it only has 1 HDMI input, so really it is a great screen if you have a fully equiped AV setup in the form of an amp and tuner and perhaps HDMI switching box if your amp doesn't take care of multiple inputs for your DVD player or your PVR. LG Scarlet
Lady in red
Dancing in to the ultra thin television market is LG's Scarlet TV - with a stunning red shell, this is a beautiful TV. You may think it's pointless having the rear casing of a television coloured, but this is a tv to show off, so angle it a little so your guests can see the beauty of this beast. This TV is only 80mm thick which is pretty skinny. The LG has a rather large bezel underneath it to enhance the beauty with a hole cut through to the back which is illuminated in, you guessed it, scarlet! Beauty on screen
Sharp Future
Sharp will release a 1inch thick tv in 2010, using the same technology that they use to make solar panels. These have been on the cards for a while now, with a prototype debuted in 2007. We are waiting with bated breath for the skinny beauty. But will it be all too late for sharp enterning the super skinny market? Watch it live
Sony ZX1
No ultra slim television round up would be complete without the Sony ZX1. Sony is arguably the leader of the television world, and their bravia TVs are stunning. to watch. The ZX1 is ultra slim - just 9.9mm at it's thinnest and only 9kg. The secret is apparently the LEDs around the edge of the TV which light it from the side and allow it to be skinny. It also has wireless built in so you can get an even sleeker look. Watched the show? Get the TV Shirt
Samsung
Samsung are one of the largest LCD panel producers in the world and have launched a TV boasting just 10mm thin and full HD so you can get all the glory of your freesat tv watching. Not only that, but Samsung are towing the green line, with lower power consumption to appeal to those of us who want to save the planet while watching David Attenborough re-runs. Again, like Sony, the edge lt LEDs help illuminate the display. by indoorouthouse
