Drawing Skulls: The Image Of Evil
In this lens I would like to explore the many ways that a skull can be percieved and seen as art, plus there is the usual drawing tutorial that I like to do on all of my art lenses.
For me drawing skulls is one of the best exercises any artist can do to flex their artistic muscles and plus there are many variations of skull art, from abstract art to cartoon skull art, the popular iconic image of the skull is almost anywhere in the area of fantasy art and imaginative art creations.

The precise skull drawing of a human skull is one of the best examples I found on the internet, it gives a side profile view, but it also adds some relevance and mystery to it.
The way you see a skull should be of a design format that you are comfortable with drawing, for me it is the comic book style of drawing that really inspires my art further, at the moment I have no aspirations to make my art photo realistic, but just to be insprational and the way I wan to see it.
All artists have their very own style that they cling on to and most often is the case that their art style suits what they are drawing.
Skull art is very popular in tattoos and comic books, if you try and study the skull in these different media you will find this image popping up all over the place.

Drawing A Skull
They come in all shapes and sizes.
But more importantly there is a simple way of drawing a skull from all angles that I find easy to remember, it's the up down left right principal,what's this you may ask, well, when you draw anything most of the time it is almost symmetrical on both sides, so if you were to draw your heads from the side profile it would look the same facing the other way, the proportions will be the same whatever way you see it and the up down methods is the extra way of percieving more added depth and perspective, although features aren't symmetrical when viewed in some ways they are often.
When I draw a skull, I start with a loose oval shape that is the underlying structure you want to achieve, then when you re ready you need to quickly mark in the eyes and some rough features, don't worry too much about where everything should be properly placed as this is just your designing stage, you are allowed to change things at this point.
