For years Sundance has dominated the film festival circuit. Starting 12 years ago a new played appeared in Utah, to rival the Sundance.
Enter SlamDance Film Festival...
With the accusation that Sundance had become mainstream, established and the home to Hollywood snobs, the founders of Slamdance felt there needed to be an alternative. The need was once again, just as with the rise of Sundance, to provide a truly independent outlet for film directors and screenwriters.
