Slayer are THE thrash metal band - the band that defined the genre.
Since they formed in California 1981, Slayer have released 10 studio albums, including 1986's Reign in Blood, described by Kerrang! magazine as "the heaviest album of all time".
Slayer long awaited album Christ Illusion was released in 2006.
Latest Update: In 2007, Slayer are touring in support of Christ Illusion.

South of Heaven
1988's South of Heaven is slower and more melodic than Reign in Blood - a deliberate departure as Slayer realised that they could not outdo the speed and brutality of their third album.

Seasons in the Abyss
Seasons in the Abyss, from 1990, was Slayer's fourth studio album. It was the last album tofeature Dave Lombardo on drums until 2006's Christ Illusion.

God Hates Us All
Released on the same day as the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks, 1991's God Hates Us All was recieved in a storm of controversy, despite the fact that the band insisted that they had not returned to their horror-inspired subject matter. The real cover, featuring a bloody bible with nails hammered into the shape of a pentagram, was covered by a plain white slip case to avoid causing offense in stores.
