Herbal Sleep Aids
I decided I needed to share exactly how I do this with other insomnia suffers. For the most part I focus on finding quick and easy ways to to use several ways to get to sleep quickly at the same time. Methods I use can include herbal sleep aids, sounds, mental techniques, several other methods. Even when using 5 or 6 methods it now only takes me 5 to 10 minutes to get to sleep and unlike before I now sleep peacfully through the night.
I believe that anyone can use my methods to fall asleep quickly and easily at night. I tried complicated methods and found them so difficult that I just did not stick to them. I also tried several methods that worked a little bit but just not enough to get the job done.
Once I hit on the idea of finding several methods that could all fit together in a way that had synergy I found that I was able to fall asleep quickly and sleep all night.
The critera I used to select my methods are:
1) They had to be inexpesive. I did not want it to cost me an arm and a leg.
2) They had to work fast.
3) They had to be natural. No chemical drugs to use the rest of my life.
4) They had to be easy to apply. Otherwise I knew I simply would not use them.
5) They had to be interchangable. Later this did not seem to matter as much to me but this method does allow someone to pick and choose 3-5 techniques to get the job done from about 15-20 methods.
So I recommend this method to others. Pick about 10 different methods. There are tons of them out there. You can use essential oils, herbs, sleep anchors, sound machines or recordings, hypnosis, mental conditioning methods, and on the list goes.
Then just pick 3 to 5 of them and use them all at the same time. What you need is a system where you can apply the methods quickly within a few minutes before bed time.
One example could be using several herbs, some essential oils, and a sleep anchor all just before you go to bed at night.
Here are some great herbs to try.
Valerian
Lemon Balm
Passion Flower (Don't let the name fool you it is great for sleep.)
Chamomile
A great way to use these herbs is to purchase them in a pre-formulated product such as a tea.
Then use Lavender or another sleep inducing essential oil. You can spray these into the air before going to bed at night.
Then apply a sleep anchor. Sleep anchors are objects, sounds, or thoughts that cause deep relaxation and peacfulness.
Combine these methods all right at sleep time and you won't believe the results you get. And remember that you can experiment with the group of methods that you prefer to use. Usually 3-5 is best but if you want to use more then by all means do.
