Too tired to go to sleep? One can be too tired. The body is restless, the brain is on overdrive that the sleep just doesn't come. Oh it will come, in the middle of an important meeting tomorrow when the body is supposed to be well rested and ready to go. So, what sleep remedy could possibly help this backward situation?

To begin with, being really busy and having constant mental stimulation does not help. Most people with insomnia will be tired, but their minds my be thinking on daytime shift or their bodies are still in daytime work mode. The trick is finding a naturally sleep remedy to chase away the insomnia for good.

 

 

Taking a walk in the evening before bedtime may help reduce the body's stress. It is good for the brain too, because things can be cleared out of the mind as the walk goes on. Taking a relaxing bath and then trying some meditation, or quiet time may be helpful. Meditating is a good way to clear the mind and get it ready for sleep. It may take some practice, and it is a good way to get your mind to slow down and even consider what your problems are at the moment and letting them go. Once you have done that, the thoughts most likely will not haunt you at 2:00 am. You may find yourself waking refreshed to the alarm in the morning.

Along with some light exercise and meditation, it would be wise not to overeat too late. Eating late can interfere with sleeping because the body still has to digest the food and it can be a process that gets the body stirred up instead of settled down. Watching scary movies or action-type movies get the body going and tense it up as the movie moves to the climax and the falling action. It causes your body to wake up to pay attention. Movies would be best left to a weekend afternoon or early evening, not right before sleep.
