Maleficent Character of the Month Litho Signed

Aided by her pet Raven Diabalo Malificent is one of the most powerful of the Disney villains. She can change her form at will. One of her most scary forms is of course as a dragon. This is seen in the Sleeping Beauty movie and also is the center piece of the spectacular Fantasmic show at Disney Hollywood Studios.

Maleficent has a costume fit for a true Disney villain. She has pale green skin,evil yellow eyes and wears a horned headdress. She is very clearly practices the dark arts! She casts spells via her staff. She can create bolts of lightning and transport herself from place to place.

Wouldn't it be wonderful to know the story as to how Maleficent became the evil fairy that she is? Perhaps we see a prequel to the Maleficent story. Surely she isn't just that mad because Aurora's parents don't apologize for not sending her an invitation?

One of the very best Disney World shows is the spectacular Fantasmic which is shown at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Orlando. Take your seats in the 6,000 capacity auditorium in Disney Studios to watch the spectacular Fantasmic light, pyrotechnic,fireworks,laser and live action show.

The Fantasmic show is pretty difficult to describe and has to be seen to be believed but the basic story is a good versus evil with Mickey Mouse and Malificent at the center of the story. If you are visiting Disney World this is a definite must see.

What makes the character so successful of course is the amazing characterization. Maleficent was animated by Marc Davies. Her voice was that of Eleanor Audley who had also voiced Lady Tremaine in Cinderella.

Magnificently evil in a multi-layered long-sleeve bodysuit dress with long fuchsia chiffon skirt underneath and enveloping black cloak with satin ribbon detail fully lined in organza. The hood is removable from the cloak and has attached wired stand up accents. Includes ring, hose, shoes and display stand. This stunning Maleficent Doll has rooted raven hair in a ponytail under hood.

Unfortunately there are very limited chances to get up close to Maleficent at Disney World - although of course perhaps not many would dare! She does appear at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Beware she actually is pretty scary! If you have young children then you may want to give her a miss.......

Maleficent appeared in The Villains Mix and Mingle at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. The show is performed on the stage in front of Cinderella's Castle. Hopefully this will be staged again for the 2009 party. After the show Maleficent and her fellow Disney villains cam down from the stage and had a meet and greet.

You can see Malificent - although at a safe distance - in Magic Kingdom's Disney Dreams Come True parade.

I have seen Malificent in Fantasyland near Cinderella's Castle. But in my experience it is pretty rare to catch an appearance by Maleficent. When you see her it is worth it just to see her intimidating glare!
