Slingo is one of the most unlikely and successful video games ever, with a fanatical online following. Way back in the day (1995 to be exact), the crazy creators of Slingo, decided that a combination of Bingo and Slots would make for a fun video game. Within a year they were proven just how right they were, with part of that success coming from the AOL world of users. Even though, so many "real" gamers, have never heard of it, rumor has it that over 3 billion plays of Slingo have occurred online. Not sure who keeps track of crazy stats like that, but I'm sure they're true. If you've ever played the game of Slingo, you know there's no denying the fact.

Along the lines of "no successful product will go un-milked", the owners of Slingo, have been busy like little devils propagating Slingo unto every electronic device possible. Cell phones, PDAs, life size slot machines, online web versions, and probably even one your pet squid can play. These masterminds will of course settle for nothing less than world domination led by Slingo corporate.

Given the maniacal minds that spawned the original Slingo, I have no doubt that they will succeed in their crusade. Their online games are sure to pervade every home in America and beyond, as they strive to capture your eyeballs attention . . . just for a few short minutes . . . we promise ;) No need to wait any longer, now's the time to join the wonderful world of Slingo . . . resistance is futile.

Yea we know, it's not the same as actually being there, but suspend your disbelief a little, and pretend your actually in Hawaii with Slingo Quest Hawaii. Wear a lei and grass skirt if it helps. There a whole bunch of new tricks, power ups and stunning graphics to experience the beautiful (albeit virtual) islands in. Ever tried strategies like "Summon Joker" and "Pattern Match" while lying on a beach of invigorating warm sand? Coins hidden amongst coral reefs, and Jokers dressed in a Tiki style are sure to help set the atmosphere. Sure hope it's not snowing where you are. If so, crank up the old furnace to 95 degrees and melt the snow. Volcanoes, tiki dudes, and stunning sunsets . . . it's not a video game . . . it's Slingo Hawaii.

Better then the original, with all that old world charm still intact.

Time to step it up slugger, this is not your fathers Slingo. All the game play you loved with the original Slingo is still there, but even better. Ever tried out the multi card versions, or gotten a Super Slingo before? We've even got Slingos bouncing off the walls. Whomever was crazy enough to throw Pirates into the mix deserves a medal, is all I can say. Not to mention my undying gamer loving gratitude. New Slingo stamps are kinda cool, but not overly so. I'd have to say, that sixty new levels certainly are. That is cool in an oh-so-compulsive sort of way.

Slingo Deluxe

The original never goes out of style.

While there have been a number of downloadable versions of Slingo in the last few years, the original still plays pretty darn good. While some would argue, that playing online Slingo is the only original, there is something to be said for being able to play, even when you don't have an internet connection. For those "old school" purists, Slingo Deluxe still retains all the old world charm of the original version, with "Classic" mode. See the screenshot below.

Slingo Deluxe introduced a number of new features beyond the classic online mode which include:

- a full screen matrix number mode, where you try to get the whole card, instead of just one row of matched numbers.
- a revised scoring system, where more than one joker gets you extra points.
- some new eye candy, by setting the backgrounds to different views.
- improved scoring history, so you can see your Slingo skills improving over time
- a pattern matching mode, where you can win extra points, with a little extra risk

While the graphics may be a little dated, the original compelling Slingo game play is still there.

Slingo Casino Pak

Why settle for just Slingo Deluxe, when you can have 9 extra games.

That crazy gang over at Funkitron who put together this game pack, decided that Slingo addicts may actually enjoy playing Casino style games. While there is no real betting or money involved with these games, they can still be fun. If more is quite often (always?) better, then this version of Slingo is a good deal.

Some of these games I've heard of, but some are completely new to me. They include JokerPoker, Ultimate Greed Poker, Crazy 7s, Absolutely Poker, Super Keno, MegaJackPot Bingo, Brasil Bonus Bet 21 and Swedish Bingo. It's worth the free download (see below) just to see what their all about.

5 Card Slingo

If you like poker, and Slingo, here's your chance to optimize your play time.

They say, if you like bingo, and you like slots, then your bound to link Slingo, in whatever version you try. Well, the makers of 5 Card Slingo, are betting, that if you like poker, slots, and bingo, they may have the game for you.

While not quite as simplistic as the original Slingo, after a few tries, most people get the hang of it pretty quick. If you know the rules of poker it will help. Knowing what are the best poker hands is helpful here as well. Although after playing for 30 minutes or so, will show you the basics.

Basically, your playing 5 hands of poker at the same time on a Slingo board. The better hand you can put together using the cards dealt to you, the more points you score. Check out the YouTube video below to see a short game being played.
