Although sloths today are known for being moderately-sized primates, ancient sloths were giants whose size rivaled that of elephants. The demeanor of sloths make them seem as if they are perpetually sleepy, even when they are wide awake.
The coats of sloths are made of long hair and they sometimes grow mosses or algae, which act like camouflage! They live in trees, so appearing to be a large clump of leaves and moss can be a good thing.
What do Sloths eat?
Sloths like to eat twigs, berries and leaves but sometimes they will eat smaller animals or birds too. They drink by eating juicy leaves or licking water off of leaves.
