Small Blenders & Single Serving Smoothie Recipes

A Small Blender That Actually Works!
I never thought I would love a blender this much! I actually bought the Hamilton Beach Single-Serve Blender in an attempt to get my teenage daughter to eat breakfast and now the entire family has become addicted to smoothies. I shouldn't be surprised because they taste wonderful and with this personal sized blender everyone gets their favorite flavor combination, every time. My kids are making their own smoothies in less time than it would take to make a piece of toast. This may be a little machine, but it does the job and quick! Clean up is easy too. The hardest thing for our family was finding single serving recipes to use, so I've put together a list of our family's favorites recipes with measurements that work perfectly in ANY small blenders that hold at least 14 ounces of liquid or more.
The Hamilton Beach Single-Serve Blender
Great for fruit smoothies, icy drinks, shakes, and more!
- Convenient single-serving size.
- Simple one-touch operation.
- 14 ounce plastic jar fits most car cup holders & includes travel lid.
- Height: 12-1/2 inches
- Length: 3-3/4 inches
- Depth: 3-3/4 inches
- Power output: 175 watts
- Durable stainless-steel blades.

Hamilton Beach Personal Blender Black

Hamilton Beach Personal Blender White
Take your drink on the go. Use travel lid(included) directly on blender jar and your ready to go Convenient single serve size (16 ounce). Great for fruit smoothies icy drinks shakes and more. Stainless steel blades 1 year warranty.
Why I Love This Blender!
- The size! This machine is so compact that it doesn't take up any more counter space than your average coffee cup! I actually have 2 of them on my counter now because it has become so popular with the girls and their friends after school. The cord even wraps around the bottom for storage.
- I love that the blades are on the bottom of the blender jar. Unlike other popular single-serve blenders, (Magic Bullet), you don't have to tip the blender jar over and remove the blades after you've made your smoothie. The jar doubles as a cup and with the travel lid you're ready to go without the hassle and mess of changing lids.
- This thing is powerful! It takes less than a minute to perfectly blend a smoothie, even with lots of ice and frozen fruit.
- It's easy to use! Most kids, 8 years old and up, can easily make their own smoothies with some adult supervision. My daughter just turned 9 and she is making smoothies on her own and loving it! She is eating healthier and learning some basic cooking skills by measuring her ingredients. She also loves making up her own flavor combinations by mixing different berries and fruits together. *The lid to this blender is a little tight and may be hard for younger children to remove by themselves.
-
You can't beat the price! The Hamilton Beach Personal Blender
is only about $15, the price of 3 or 4 smoothies from your favorite smoothie shop or the mall.
- Happy, healthy kids! My kid have never been more excited about making recipes. They literally each make a smoothie for breakfast and another as an after school snack. They always tell me that it's so much better than going out for a milkshake or slushie from the convenience store or mall because they can make their own flavor combinations.

Smoothie Recipe Instructions!
Please note: The recipes on this page are single serving and are perfect for the Hamilton Beach Single-Serve Blender or similar blenders that hold at least 14 ounces of liquid or more.
*Printable single serving smoothie recipes on PDF format are coming soon!
When using the recipes below:
- Add ingredients in the order they are listed, always adding the liquid ingredients first.
- Blend until smooth, usually about 60 seconds.
- Have fun and feel free to make adjustments in flavors by mixing different fruits and berries. My kids love making up their own favorite combinations.
- The amount of ice in each smoothie can be adjusted to your liking. Depending on how slushie you want your drink just add more or less than the suggested amount.
- *Tip: I recommend using smaller sized ice cubes for best results. (You can read more about finding these trays at the bottom of this page.)
- Of course, you can always use soy or rice milk when the recipe calls for milk.

Smoothie Making Tips
- Add your liquid ingredients to the blender jar first. This will eliminate dirtying extra measuring cups because the measurement markings are right on the jar. This will also help your dry ingredients from sticking the bottom of the jar.
- Calculate the nutritional information for your favorite smoothie recipes here.
- Mini ice cubes are awesome! Maybe you're lucky enough to have a built-in crushed ice dispenser, but if you don't I highly recommend that you find some mini ice cube trays. I have the ones that are about the same size and shape as candy Dots and they work wonderfully! I found them on sale at the grocery store where I usually shop. They can be tricky to find, but are worth it!

- this seems really simple. I bought the exact same blendder for the same reason and she loves it, and I love that she only has to go to one site to see a bunch of different recipes.

- This page is so colorful and all this good fruit is making me hungry. I really like getting smaller appliances because since it's a smaller mess involved, you are more likely to use them in the first place.

- We have smoothies regularly for breakfast and since I use cold juices, I just don't bother with ice. But during the day, that would be wonderful. Bananas are great as they always give our smoothies the texture that I like as well as the flavor. Great lens.

- Thank you so much for supplying all these recipies. My doctor recommended smoothies for breakfast since I am often eating on the go and what I was eating was so much processed sugar. This will be a much healthier breakfast. My husband got me the Hamilton Beach Single Serve Blender this week and I am excited to try the recipies.

- I HAVE to favorite this, so I can return to it for recipes (and I love how you color-coded them, by the way). I'm an absolute smoothie fanatic, and at a price of around $5 (and sometimes more) when buying them in local restaurants and coffeeshops, it's getting way too expensive. This single-serving blender is a great idea.

- Awesome lens! Smoothies have saved us in the a.m., esp. since 2 of our 3 kids have ADD (squidoo.com/focusbetter). Streamlining the a.m. routine has been crucial. I use a little fruit kefir, which bumps up the protein and (along with frozen fruit I throw in) gives them 2 servings fruit even before they get to school.
Love how you put all this together! 5*****

- This is an AMAZING lens!
I hope you've submitted it to Culinary Favorites From A to Z group (I'm running behind but I think I may have seen it there.)
I just submitted it for a Purple Star and I'm going to bless it.
Great work & a wonderful idea -- I have one teenage boy who hardly eats in the morning and another who is getting there. Teenagers just are not hungry in the morning when they first get up any idea to encourage them is great. (And mine have been making smoothies for years, just not in the morning!)
