Every dog deserves great toys - no matter how tiny the dog (or the toy!)

Here at GollyGear we know that there are almost as many different playing styles as there are dogs. Some like plush, some like squeaky, others must have toys with faces, or rattles. There are tons of toys available today - the problem has always been finding dog toys tiny enough and sturdy enough for small dogs. Just because they're small in size, doesn't mean they don't love mauling that tug!

What's your dog's play style?

  • Does he love to listen to animal sounds on TV? The Babble Ball will fascinate him! If she has a softer side - the Pet Qwerks Mini Plush Toys make realistic animal sounds!
  • Does she love to fetch? A perennial Golly Gear favorite is the Latex Soccer Ball.
  • Does he love to tug? The perfect toy may be the Wubba Tug, or any of the Timberwolf Rope Toys.
  • Is he a fan of crinkly toys? The Bow Wow Beanies from Ty are just the ticket.
  • Does she love to gnaw on her toys? The Good Karma Rope Toys are a perfect choice.
  • Is he not a fan of toys, but a real chow hound? You can get him chasing treats with the Treat Stik!
  • Or does your dog prefer to play "mighty hunter?" The Small Squirrel or Tennis Tails may be just right.
  • Every dog loves playing with tennis balls. Our little guys were out of luck until now! We found Tennis Balls - and they squeak! Great fun for our small dogs!

The most fun, irritating, toy ever!

Your little dog will love the Babble Ball! It talks or makes animal sounds when it's touched and turns off if it's not touched in a few seconds. Choose the Talking Babble Ball which has about 25 funny wisecracks and sounds, or the Animal Sounds Babble Ball with over 20 different animal sounds. Made of hard plastic, the Babble Balls roll like crazy, all the while chatting, laughing or making sounds. Each Babble Ball is about 2 inches in diameter.

Pet Qwerks Mini Plush Toys

Your little dog will love the Pet Qwerks Mini Plush Toys! They're just the right size - only about 4 1/2 inches tall and 3 inches wide. They're super soft and make animal noises! All the dogs make a cute begging sound. The Chimp makes monkey sounds, the Pig "oinks," and the Tree Frog "ribbits."

Latex Soccer balls!

The Latex Soccer Ball is Ceilidh's (Golly's Boston Terrier sister) favorite toy in the entire universe! She could play fetch with this little soccer ball for, literally, hours! It's also fun to run around with, as you can see on the right with Coconut and Tuffy chasing Doc (all Miniature Poodles).
The ball is made of the best Spanish latex, it squeaks nicely when squeezed even a little, and bounces like crazy! The Latex Soccer Ball is durable, non-toxic and washable (a rinse in water is usually all that's needed). 2 or 2 1/2 inches in diameter.

Rope Toys from Timberwolf

Our little dogs love the Timberwolf Rope Toys! Some of these toys are great for tugging, others are great for fetching, but they're all loads of fun! The ropes are great for flossing their little teeth and at just 3/8 inch in diameter, they're easy for our little dogs to handle. Many have 1 3/4 inch diameter rubber balls that our little dogs can sqeeze, others have fun rubber "gears" that are 1 3/4 inches in diameter. The gears have little nubs that clean teeth and massage gums.

Skinneeez!

Is your little dog happiest after he's pulled the stuffing out of a plush toy - running around the house with the toy flopping in his mouth! Skinneeez toys by Ethical Products are already floppy! There's no stuffing for your little dog to strew around the house, but there are legs and tails to tug on. Plus there are two squeakers - one in the head and one in the tail.

Each Skinneeez measures about 23 inches in length - kind of long, but there's no stuffing in it, so it's light! The toy is super-floppy which makes it easy to throw - Roc loves to play fetch with his Skinneeez Rabbit! And Skinneez toys are quite durable - Dax (French Bulldog) has been trying to get the squeaker out of her Rabbit's tail for days without success. Comes in six styles: Rabbit, Squirrel, Chipmunk, Fox, Raccoon, and Skunk!

NEWS FLASH: Skinneeez are now available in a smaller size - Mini Skinneeez! just 14 inches long!

Wubba Tug

This is a wonderful toy for any little dog - great for chewing on, fetching, carrying around, playing tug-of-war. This is the toy your little dog will love. One of the tassels even has embroidered, "Dog's Best Friend!" The Wubba is made of very strong canvas, which wraps two round squeakers - a small one at the top, and a larger one (about 1 1/2 inch in diameter) in the center, and finishes with great tassels (less than an inch wide and about 4 inches long).

It can hold up to a persistent chewer (although we haven't found anything that will last forever), and has enough weight to throw a distance, without being too heavy for our little guys to carry happily. Wubbas are even made of eco-friendly materials. This toy isn't glamorous, but it is a great dog toy!

Bow Wow Beanies

Bow Wow Beanies(tm) are exceptionally well-made. They hold up under the fiercest play. And, they crinkle and squeak! How much fun is that?! There are no beans in these Beanies, so no worries about little plastic pellets all over the house! And the features are sewn, not plastic.

Good Karma Rope Toys

Good Karma Rope Toys by Jax and Bones are fun, adorable, and help less fortunate pups. Especially designed for little dogs, the small rope toys are made of heavy duty rope so they offer a dental floss-type effect. A portion of the proceeds of these toys goes to benefit www.therescuetrain.org, a non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating animal suffering.

Treat Stik

The TreatStik is a great way to put the interest back in your pup's mealtimes! Some little dogs need to be persuaded to eat, but many times that's because they're just bored. The TreatStik makes meals a fun game. When you put your dog's kibble in the TreatStik, roll it around on the floor so that a few pieces fall out of the small hole, she'll see how much fun it is to play! She'll get the hang of the TreatStik in no time and be eager for the game!

Alternatively, it's a great toy! Just put a few pieces of kibble or a couple of treats in the TreatStik and your lazy dog will be chasing it all over the place once he figures out there's good stuff to be had!

Puppy Love

Puppy Love toys are just the cutest, teeny, tiny, cute, soft, plush toys for your little dog from Room Candy! Made of soft velour with all features sewn, and they squeak!

Small Squirrel

Is the squirrel your little dog's nemesis out in the yard? Then what could be more fun than having a toy Squirrel for his very own! Shake it, toss it, squeak it, cuddle it - your little dog will have a ball with this Squirrel! This Squirrel is soft, with no features to pull off. The body measures about 6 inches long and the tail another 6 inches.

Tennis Balls for teeny dogs!

At last, tennis balls that little dogs can play with! Have you seen the envious look on your dog's face as it watches the big guys chase their tennis balls? Have you watched your itty bitty dog get completely frustrated trying to pick up a ball that she can't possible get her mouth around? Now she can fetch tennis balls just like the big guys - with size-appropriate tennis balls! Air Kong Squeaker Balls are perfect for our small dogs!

Tennis Tails

The Tennis Tail combines your dog's all-time favorite toys - ball and plush squeaky toy - into one terrific toy. Heavyweight fabric, self-sealing squeaker and tough, double-wall tennis ball ensure these toys will be around for tons of fun. The faux-fur tails will appeal to your dog's natural hunting instinct with your choice of fox (reddish), raccoon (darkest) or squirrel (grayish color) styles!

Loopies for little guys (and girls)!

Classic Loopy! Huge fun to chase, carry and chew for any dog! The toy measures 4 inches by 4 inches, each loop is 3/4 inch in diameter. There's even a tiny squeaker in the middle.

Tug Toys!

Good for your dog - and the planet!

At 24 inches long and 2 inches wide, the West Paw® Twist Tug Eco Toy is a little larger than most of our toys. But it's so soft and light weight that your little dog will love to play with her Twist and carry it around. And it's nice and warm, so she'll even want to snuggle up with it! The Twist Tug is made from recycled soda bottles, so you can feel good about this toy. Made in Montana.

What toy is essential to your dog's happiness?

And yes, tennis balls count!

in reply to Kate You must be talking about Needles The Porcupine! You can find it here: http://www.gollygear.com/sm_latex.htm
Isn't it funny how dogs have their favorites and nothing else will do? We always keep a half-dozen back-ups of Ceilidh's ball stashed away.

Our miniature poodle will play with only one toy. It is a soft latex or rubber hedgehog about 2 1/2 inches. Red. I can send a photo.. The spines on the hedgehog go out at irregular directions. She LOVES it and won't play with any other similar toy.

Hi, I just found this lens! My two little dogs give me hours of fun and pleasure especially since I got them those weired Kong toys for dogs! I love 'em and so do the dogs, so any lens about the different dog toys that are out there is interesting to me. 5 stars!
