Rabbits, rats and guinea pigs.
I really miss having pets. At one time I had so many hutches and runs out in the back garden but not anymore.
In fact my rabbits used to run free around my back garden, digging everything up and making a nuisance of themselves.
When I have my own house I'm going to have a massive garden full of rabbits, sheep, goats, ducks and hens!

Adopt!
All the animals I've taken in were animals that needed new homes.
I didn't choose any of the following pets in this lens but I was delighted to give them all a home.
Mildred and Maud
I already had a guinea pig, Baby, and one of my rats when Mildred and Maud came to stay.
I did wonder if the rabbits would get along with Baby, but it wasn't to be! Despite being half heir size Baby was determined to start a fight!
Mixing rats and other small furries is a definite no-no.
Mildred and Maud
Their first day with me.

Mildred
Taken the day she first arrived at my house.

Black and White
Apparently all-black and all-white furred rabbits and guinea pigs don't tend to sell very well so they get left behind in the pet shops and may well end up in rescue centres.

In the Run

Mildred...
...in the run.

Important to have space to move!
My rabbits were quite large as rabbits go but even if you only have small bunnies you need to give them extra space to run around. I'd let these two stay in their run all day and then put them in the hutch at night.

Babies!
Mildred was pregnant when I took her in. I didn't find out until I checked on Mildred and Maud in their hutch and wondered why one of their paws was crawling away!
Tiny Bunny

Baby Bunnies
Check out that tiny paw!

Holding Baby Bunnies
I always thought that you weren't supposed to handle baby rabbits and that their mothers would eat them if you did. Apparently this isn't true if they're pets but you have to be very careful and make sure you protect their eyes from direct sunlight.

From Baby to Brute

Baby Bunny
Baby Bunny
Baby Bunny was born at my house after I took her mother and aunt in.
Her real name was Argenta but that was a bit of a mouthful!

Geronimo
Boy Bunnies
In my experience boy bunnies tend to be lot calmer and more chilled out than the girls.
Check out laid back grumpy-bun Geronimo above.

Bluebell
Bluebell and Clover
Bluebell and Clover were Maud's babies.
Their father was a wild rabbit.

Exercise
We used to let the rabbits run around in the back garden until they learnt to escape into the field next door. Then we bought a hutch and run combo and used to take them on walks!
Rabbits...
...on Wikipedia.
Rabbits are small mammals in the family Leporidae of the order Lagomorpha, found in several parts of the world. There are seven different genera in the family classified as rabbits, including the European rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus), Cottontail rabbit (genus Sylvilagus; 13 species), and the Amami rabbit (Pentalagus furnessi, endangered species on Amami ?shima, Japan). There are many other species of rabbit, and these, along with pikas and hares, make up the order Lagomorpha.

Guinea Pigs...
...on Wikipedia.
The guinea pig (Cavia porcellus), also commonly called the Cavy, is a species of rodent belonging to the family Caviidae and the genus Cavia. Despite their common name, these animals are not pigs, nor do they come from Guinea. They originated in the Andes, and studies based on biochemistry and hybridization suggest they are domesticated descendants of a closely related species of cavy such as Cavia aperea, C. fulgida, or C. tschudii, and therefore do not exist naturally in the wild. The guinea pig plays an important role in the folk culture of many Indigenous South American groups, especially as a food source, but also in folk medicine and in community religious ceremonies. Since the 1960s, efforts have been made to increase consumption of the animal outside South America.
In Western societies, the guinea pig has enjoyed widespread popularity as a household pet since its introduction by European traders in the 16th century. Their docile nature, their responsiveness to handling and feedi...

Rats...
...on Wikipedia.
Rats are various medium-sized, long-tailed rodents of the superfamily Muroidea. "True rats" are members of the genus Rattus, the most important of which to humans are the black rat, Rattus rattus, and the brown rat, Rattus norvegicus. Many members of other rodent genera and families are also called rats and share many characteristics with true rats.
Rats are typically distinguished from mice by their size; rats are generally large muroid rodents, while mice are generally small muroid rodents. The muroid family is very large and complex, and the common terms rat and mouse are not taxonomically specific. Generally, when someone discovers a large muroid, its common name includes the term rat, while if it is small, the name includes the term mouse - scientifically, the terms are not confined to members of the Rattus and Mus genera. Compare the taxonomic classification of the Pack rat and Cotton mouse.

- Thank you! Rabbits are adorable- they can be a bit standoffish at first but I discovered that the more space and freedom you give them the more they come right up to you, rather than you chasing them!
