Less invasive technique
This method uses a 1064 wave length laser that only targets red blood cells. This results in minimal blood loss and skin heating.The actual incision is a mere hole that is so small, doctors do not have to suture it. This tiny hole rarely leaves any scars. It is very gentle and precise throughout the entire process.
The layer of fat that is melted with each pass is as thin as a sheet of paper. The blood coagulates almost immediately, which results in less downtime, healing and body trauma.

Smartlipo™ is an outpatient procedure, in which only local anesthesia is administered. The patient is usually awake during the entire procedure and is allowed to leave one hour after it is finished.
With other forms of liposuction, the recovery period can be weeks or even months. With this technique, overall healing time is about one week, even though it begins the moment the laser is used.
SmartLipo PLUS™
One major setback to the SmartLipo™ technology is that the body cannot absorb enough treated tissue when there are large deposits of fat. SmartLipo™ is most efficient for small deposits of fat. Sometimes liposuction is used in conjunction with SmartLipo™ to remove the excess/burnt fat away as soon as the laser has worked it's magic.
