Smiling is contagious
Smile and the world smiles back. (Most of the time!)
As an experiment - smile at the next person you meet and almost everytime they will smile back. This is simply because everyone wants to be happy and a smile is the first thing that breaks down barriers.

Smiling promotes good health
A smile heals - it relaxes and calms you and others. Smiling releases "happy hormones" called endorphins that promote healing. Not only is it beneficial to your health and wellbeing, smiling fosters joy, love, peace, humanity, compassion and friendship - and what's more it is completely FREE.
The Smiling Mind Map is also FREE and can be downloaded here: http://www.mindmapinspiration.co.uk/#/smiling-mind-map/4528459535

One smile causes a ripple
A smile is a bit like a Mexican wave - one leads to another and another and before you know it the whole world is beaming.
The benefits of a smile are instant - inviting, embracing, magical, motivating....smiling offers thanks and contentment, makes a connection from the heart, is non-violent and non-judgmental.
Smiling creates richness for you and others.

Smiling = Happiness shared
Einstein said: e=mc2
Try "Smiling=Happiness shared"
Ok, so that may be a bit corny, yet it is true and it makes it memorable.
To be friendly and harmonious, sharing laughter (best medicine). To be welcoming, positive, forgiving, inspiring, natural, human; the list is endless and nearly all of it either starts from a smile or involves a smile.
Anthony Robbins once said "Fake it until you make it" and it is that crucial - when you don't feel like smiling, go to a mirror, use your fingers and bring your mouth to a smile; you will be amazed what a difference it can make to how you feel inside. Or, have a laughter attack - burst out laughing for no reason for as long as it takes for it to change from false to real (it won't take long as your body doesn't know the difference)
Smiles are affordable - have as many as you want.

OK - Enough about smiling; make me laugh!
OK.There is a great joke book called "Elephantastic! A trunkful of unforgettable jokes" ISBN 1856973190
Jokes don't always need to be side splitters or rude to get your chuckle muscles going again - here are a couple from the book that should raise a smile, however mild!
How do you keep an elephant in suspense?
I'll tell you tomorrow.
How do you tell the difference between a mouse
and an elephant? Try picking them up!
How do you hire an elephant?
Stand it on four bricks.
and one of the best -
Elephant: "Doctor, I've lost my memory!"
Doctor: "When did this happen?"
Elephant: "When did what happen?"

- Anytime I deal with disagreeable people I make sure to smile and be extra kind. It is hard to do at first, but it really does change the attitude of that difficult person. Usually my smile is genuine by the end of the encounter. Nice lens! :)

- I totally agree with you. :D
Happiness can't be found in material things. It's when it is done with others.

- @budwalker I recall a time when I would need to get drunk to be "happy". I realised that was outer happiness (or what I thought was happiness) and started working on the inside. I think developing an inner smile makes you feel better about yourself. You can't always judge by appearances :)
