Sexy Smokey Eyes

There is nothing sexier in makeup than the Smokey Eyes makeup look. You can wear a lighter version of this look during the day and a heavier smokey eye in the evening. This can be used on your wedding day, prom night or any old night out on the town.

Tools For Smokey Eyes

What You Will Need

smokey eyes makeup, makeup, brown, eyeshadow1.Small eye shadow brush.

2.Black eyeliner - Use pencil liners under the eyes and on the rims of the eyes.

3.Black eyeliner - Liquid liner works best. Use liquid liner to line the top of the lids.

4.Dark eye shadow colors in grays, blacks, and/or whites.

5.Highlighting shimmer for your brow bones.

6.Black Mascara. Obviously choose a quality brand to avoid clumping or 'spider eyes'.

7.A good eyebrow pencil. Try to select the most natural shade that blends well with your brow hair colors.

8. Eyelash curler.

Definition Is the Key to Clean Smoky Eye Make-up

Use a cake liner in the top lash line to give definition. Nothing looks more messy than a smoky eye with gaps around the lash line as the focus is always supposed to be the eyes. A cake liner will accentuate eye shape and give a professional tidy finish to this look.

Basic Smokey Eye Tutorial

smokey eyes, smokey eye makeup, eye makeup, makeup tutorial1. Apply a cream concealer over your eyelid to create a smooth base for your eyeshadow.

2. Use a pencil liner (black or gray looks best) to trace your top lashline from the inner corner to the outer. Then, use the same pencil to dot between your lower lashes. Smudge both lashlines with a cotton swab or an eyeliner brush.

3. Sweep powder shadow (brown, gray and dark green all work with black or gray liner) over your lid and into your crease, blending the color up and outward.

TIP: To prevent color from fading and give your lids a more shimmery finish, pat a cream shadow over the concealer on your lid first, wait five minutes, then top with a matching powder shadow.

4. Dust a lighter, neutral eyeshadow (such as ivory) over just your browbone.

Fingers Are Built-In Brushes

Using fingers can even be easier than using a brush. Start by loading up your ring finger with black shadow. Dab over your lid. Follow the black up with a shimmery gray shadow, and blend with a finger.

Contour with colour

smokey makeup, purple smokey makeup, color smokey makeup, makeup, eye makeupDramatic black never goes out of fashion and shades of grey are classic for a night out, but tones of brown and purple eyeshadow can also create a gorgeous makeup look. Smokey eye makeup does not just need to be black.

Choose one medium and one dark eyeshadow to complement one another, grab your eyeshadow brush and begin:

1. Apply the medium shade across your lid to just below the crease.

2. Now to create the smoke. First imagine a V shape that starts at the outer corner of your eye and points up to meet the edge of your brow bone (find it with your finger) before returning to meet the crease of your lid. Pop a little of your darker shadow on the end of your brush and dot the 'point' of the V.

3. Load your brush with more dark shadow and draw on the V, using the dot as your guide.

4. Now continue the color along your crease line. Again, whether you go half way or all along depends on the size of your eyes and how dramatic you want the effect to be.

5. Shade the darker color down from the point where you stopped on the crease to the lash line. You can smudge the color up toward your brow too, if you like. Blending is the key - remember, smoky eyes are soft and smudgy with no harsh lines. Don't forget to soften the V if it looks too precise.

6. Use a finer-tipped brush or cotton tip to touch this darker shadow along the line you drew beneath your eye. Note that if you used wet shadow instead of pencil, you can skip this step as the line is already soft enough.

Lighter Eyeshadow

Apply the lighter shadow over the entire eyeball and the area between the eye and eyebrow.

How to get that Not Too Smoky Eyes:

smokey eyes, makeupWith a WET smudge liner brush, dip in the shadow and line all the way across the lid. The brush gives a thicker line and helps with the drama. Under eye, do the same thing on the outer 1/3 of eye.

Using your finger or a dried brush, apply/smudge the same shade of shadow on the outer half of eyelid from your just applied liner to the crease. Do not apply to brow bone.

Apply mascara - Optional: Apply your eyeshadow with your finger or a brush to the inner half of your lid and on brow bone.

For Brown Eyes

eye color, brown eyes, makeup, smokey eyesThere is no end to the makeup looks that women with brown eyes can wear. Makeup for brown eyes can include dark colors and light colors and can even take advantage of all of the current looks in eye make up.

Great eyeshadow colors to use for brown eyes include; black or grey, copper, coffee, and brown. Yo can be more adventurous and also use deep blue and plum. But a basic rule of thumb to keep in mind is that the best makeup colors for brown eyes are actually those that are neutral in color. Try colors in the brown family like taupes and peaches.

For Blue Eyes

blue eyes, makeupFor blue eyes use; black or grey, violet, purple or dark blue eye shadow. The dark blue eye shadow in particular will look amazing as it will be darker than your eye color thereby accentuate your blue eyes.

Other amazing eyeshadow colors that work well for blue eyes include: brown, rose, silver, peach, gold, lavender and violet. It all depends on the shade of blue that your eyes are. You will need to experiment a little bit a figure out what works best for you.

Tip: For a smoky, sultry look use dark, grey tone shadows and liners that do not compete with the blue of your eyes. Avoid wearing blue eyeshadow that too closely matches the color of your eyes. It will end up making your eye color look dull in comparison.

For Green or Hazel Eyes

hazel eyes, makeup, beautyEyeshadow colors that look great on Green or Hazel eyes include; black or grey, deep khaki, dark green, brown, purple and plum.shadow.

Green works absolute wonders with hazel eyes. Green makes the eyes seem vibrant and more alive. Afterall, the eyes are just about green so why wouldn't this color look good?

Brown looks great with hazel colored eyes. Due to the small amount of brown in the eyes, brown brings out that color and really highlights the green. Almost any color of brown works very well with hazel colored eyes. Dark brown plays up the eyes and even a more muted lighter brown looks great.

Gold also looks really good with hazel eyes, and brings out a certain coolness to the eyes.
