Smoking And Hyponosis

The relationship between smoking and hypnosis is actually more powerful than most people believe. This is because addition exists both on a concious level and a subconcious level. Unlike other methods such as perscription medication or laser surgery, hypnosis helps to deal with your subconcious addiction.

Have you ever met a former smoker who says that they still crave a cigarette when they drink? I used to smoke myself, and realise that this can sound very discouraging. The main reason for this is that the person hasn't dealt with the addiction on an unconcious level. So therefore smoking may still seems like an attractive idea to him/her .

How I discovered this was through a 10 step hypnosis downloads program I found on line.

In this lense I'll explain to you the relationship between smoking and hypnosis by explaining how these downloads works. To do this I've give an example of 4 of the steps from this program and briefly explain how each step teaches you to stop smoking

This download runs for about 15 miinutes, and is a personally favourite of mine. The basis of this download is to allow you to view smoking as a parasite that corrides your body, rather than as a companion. For most people who smoke, tobacco can seem like something that can be relied on to deal with certain situations; whether they are negative ones or positive. This download really helps you to look at smoking in a logical and realistic sense.

The second half of this download focuses on taking you on a journey away from cigarettes. This is done by allowing you to look out into the future and viewing two separate pathways. The first is a dark and dingy path, while the second is a bright, vibrant and hopeful path. The second option obviously seems like the more attrative path; and when you go on this journey you can view smoking as just a distraction, or a parasite that is preventing from enjoying your life.

The first 48 hours of smoking are definitly the hardest, and for most people Monday is probably the most ideal day to quit. However I found it easier to quit on a Friday afternoon. This is because I had to time to just relax at home and spend the day listening to the downloads. Also I was constantly surrounding myself with people from work who smoke, so there was less temptation. After repeatedly listening to the downloads, by Monday I felt completely confident I had quit.

This download runs for approximately 18 minutes and I believe is one of the most helpful and effective steps. Breaking the chains that bind helps to demise some of the myths associated with smoking such as -

  • Smoking while drinking alcohol

  • Smoking while driving

  • Smoking to relax

  • Smoking because you are stressed

  • Smoking while having a coffee or tea

  • Smoking after you eat

  • Smoking during work brecks

  • and many others


  • I myself have continued having the occassional drink, and have been going about my everyday activities without having to smoke. After a couple of days without nicotine you can start to feel much more relaxed than you did before. In fact I think that being a non smoker helps you to be more productive, as you don't need to treat yourself with a cigarette every 30 to 45 minutes.

    The Living under a dictatorship download runs for about 18 minutes, and is a great download that teaches you how to appreciate your body. This download works by allowing you to acknowledge the different areas of your body, and how they help to keep you living. In this download you will act out a situation in your unconcious mind, where you can communicate to the different areas in your body including -

  • your heart

  • your lungs

  • your skin and blood cells

  • and a number of other muscles in your body


  • This download really does help train your subconcious mind to quit smoking. I tried having a cigarette after listening to do this download, and couldn't help but think of the damage I was doing to my body, and how dishonest I was being to myself.

    The freedom from fear also runs for about 18 minutes, and is another download that takes you on a journey away from cigarettes. The way this download works is by allowing your subconcious mind to imagine a mountain of all the cigarettes you have smoked. While in a hypnosis trance you should be able to visualise to how high your mountain is, and notice the disgusting decay coming from this mountain. Once you have experienced this you will be taken on a journey down a pathway that takes you further away from the mountain. The is done to symbolise looking at cigarettes as a distant memory.

    I used this download even after I had quit, simply because it helps you look at cigarettes as a distant memory. It also helps you to feel proud about the progress you have made, and keep you on the right track.

      Great lens. Thanks for sharing such a nice and useful information shared here. I have tried hypnosis to stop smoking from www.thoughtsbecomereality.co.uk. They helped me to quit smoking through various hypnosis sessions and techniques. And improvement me to self confidence and self control.
