Quitting Smoking Has Never Been Easy. But Many Smokers Have Quit For Good. So Can You.
Quitting smoking of cigarettes and other tobacco products is no easy task. Many smokers start off on this journey with a lot of determination but unfortunately thousands end up just where they started. The good news is that millions of smokers some of whom smoked two to three packs of cigarettes a day have successfully quit smoking. Well, I am happy to say that that I am one of those ex-smokers.
MY STORY:
How I Stopped Smoking Cigarettes Even Though I Always Knew I would Never Be Able To
Hi, My name is Frank and I would like to share my story with you in the hope that it might encourage you to stop smoking if you really want to. Well, about thirty years ago, I lighted my first cigarette and the experience was so good that I decided a second stick of cigarette would be even more fun. In five years I went from smoking about two sticks a day to smoking two or three packs a day. In short I got so addicted to nicotine ( the addictive chemical found in all cigarettes and all tobacco products ) that I never even thought about the possibility of quitting.
The Call To Quit
My dad once made a remark about my smoking habit that got me thinking about the possibility of stopping smoking for good. He said, "son, smoking is just like going to the shop to buy disease for your body." Although he made this analogy over twenty years ago, I haven't forgotten it because of the huge impact it had on me. The impact was so huge that I do not remember lighting another stick of cigarette to smoke after hearing it. When I thought about it, I realised how true it was. I agreed with my father that my smoking habit amounted to giving away my hard earned money in exchange for some deadly disease.
My Reason To Quit = My Determination To Quit And Stay Quit Infact this served as my basis for wanting to quit smoking. Now I had a good reason to quit: Smoking wasn't bringing me any benefits. By some rough estimation, I had spent over ten thousand dollars on smoking. All what my hard earned $10,000 could buy me was the possibility of getting some incurable disease. Quess what I could do with $10,000. A lot! When I reasoned it out this way, I felt cheated. I felt I had made a fool of myself. So I made the decision to stop smoking . I made the determination to never go back to smoking cigarettes for any reason. My mind was made up. In my mind the "battle" had been won. My reason for quitting would be stronger than any obstacle that would come my way. Cravings, temptations, withdrawal symptoms, whatever, I was ready to face them all.
