Welcome to my first lens
This lens is egocentrical and about me! I just started and I wanted to try something non-threatening. So, give me a short read and then visit my other lenses as I create them.

Hey,
In the immortal words of the Rolling Stones; "Please allow me to introduce myself..." I am Joe Massey, a printer by trade, a salesman by necessity and an entrepreneur at heart. I hope this short missive will give you a little insight into who I am and lead you to follow up with my future lenses.
I was born in a small town in West Central Indiana. I did all the things one does when growing up in a cornfield. It was here that I developed my passion for auto racing, college basketball and gardening.
I have lived in many diverse places including 10 years in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. It was there that I truly realized what it means to be responsible for one's self. I had learned early in my life that a 40 hour a week job working for somebody else was not for me. So, in the early 80's I had my first real experience as a self employed person.
In 1984 I began a career in printing and in 1989 it led me to the island of St. Croix where I found out what it really means to be responsible for myself. Although I had been exposed to folks from different places and backgrounds as I grew up I had never experienced the plethora of peoples I found on St. Croix.
Within 8 weeks of arriving on the island we were struck by Hurricane Hugo and it spent 18 hours destroying the island and its infrastructure. We went 9 months with no power and no phones. After working in two separate print shops for a year I struck out on my own and created my first truly successful business, Forms-A-Plenty. This is where I learned about niche marketing and how to operate a business that required all the attention that a real business needs to succeed.
