I drink a fruit smoothie everyday, never thought of drinking a veggie smoothie. Sounds great!

I do! Every day I have at least two all vegetable smoothies! They're so yummy. Great article! :)

I sure do, my wife is great at making them for me, I'm not scared of anything she puts into them. Glad I browsed upon your lens tonight! If you like to browse lens as I do, mine has a great educational topic with poll questions for my readers to enjoy.

I've been doing the Optifast protein shake diet, and was really craving all those luscious spring greens. When I read about green smoothies on a friend's FaceBook page, I had to try it! I've been adding different greens to my morning protein shake every day, along with a cup of blueberries. Today I had swiss chard, plus a tsp. of Bragg's apple cider vinegar and a couple of heaping tsp's of generic "metamucil" (i get the WalMart house brand). Great stuff!

I've been picking my favorite wild spring greens too: wild violet leaves (and flowers!), dandelion greens, chicory and lamb's quarters one day, plain old romaine lettuce another, and tomorrow I'll have beet greens. YUM YUM YUM! Once I started adding the greens to my smoothies, my weight loss increased dramatically. I went from losing a pound or two a week to losing 6 lbs a week! Viva la Green Smoothie!

You're making my mouth water. It's time to make a visit to the Farmer's Market.

Do you get hungry fast from these?
  • MindMart Apr 11, 2010 @ 10:17 pm | delete
I don't, but then I eat about 6 meals a day. If you have one for breakfast and a mid morning snack I think you'll be OK till lunch time.
  • pkmcr Apr 11, 2010 @ 3:37 pm | delete
We make them from tiem to time because a lot of the commercially produced ones have gluten in them. Great lens!
  • MindMart Apr 11, 2010 @ 4:07 pm | delete
Yeah, making them yourself lets you control the ingredients.

Are you allowed to eat anything else while on a Green Smoothie Diet? I need to lose some weight badly, and am dithering about it, mainly because I hate diet food. This might be a nice solution.
  • MindMart Apr 11, 2010 @ 12:55 pm | delete
A green smoothie can be a meal replacement. Try one for breakfast or lunch instead of a burger or bacon and eggs.
  • Apr 10, 2010 @ 5:16 pm | delete
Not yet, but it sounds like something I'd like to try.
