The Smurfs were one of the best cartoons on Saturday mornings when I was a kid. Yep, that was back when there used to be cartoons on Saturday mornings from 7 a.m. until noon.
Kids today are missing out. If you have kids the Smurfs make a great kid DVD that the whole family can enjoy.

How to Speak Smurf
You can insert "smurf" in place of any old verb or noun as well as throw in the adjective - "smurfy." For example -
Have a smurfy day!
You're such a smurf! I'm really smurfed at you right now!
P.U.! That smurf smells like you smurfed your pants.
There you go! Go ahead and give it a try.
Have a smurfy day!

Adventures of the Gummi Bears, Vol. 1 - Seasons 1-3
Amazon Price: $24.99 (as of 07/05/2009)![]()
Yet another 80's favorite of mine. Excellent animation with an interesting premise of little bears that live in trees and need a special gummiberry juice to be able to bounce away from their enemies.
I'm not sure if the popularity of the Gummi Bears cartoon influenced the sale of those horrid little candies, but at least this cartoon won't leave you with tooth decay and a large dentist bill.

No, they're not 50! A neighbor said she would not let her kids watch the Smurfs! Thought it was subversive and gave the wrong idea. What was she talking about?
I don't know. She must be flipping now and never have Sat. morning TV on.
