December Activities in Orlando, Florida with Snow

It's hard to imagine snow in Orlando, Florida. Florida, the land of palm trees, warm winters and alligators.

You won't find real snow, but when Christmas draws near, Central Florida offers numerous activities for anyone dreaming of a white Christmas. Apparently many snowbirds miss that white Christmas back home or perhaps locals think the vacationers crave some faux snow. It's a wonderful time to visit the theme parks. You get snow falling nightly at Disney and also in surrounding communities. Some schedule it as a special event, while Celebration has snow every night for your delight.

Here's where to find the ice and snow around Orlando in December.

Vacation ski trips open up new world
I just don't believe there could have been an Orlando theme park ride or even Hawaiian beach that could have outdone the perfection of it all. So it made sense that when I had children of my own, February school vacation always meant ski trips.

I had enough of snow when I lived in New York! Now I get my annual fix by going to Disney's Hollywood Studio's in December, when foam passes for snow and blows off rooftops as I listen to Christmas songs and watch thousands of lights dance to the music.

I've been to Florida in early December and thought the decorated Palm trees were great! The one center we were at had colored lights strung through the palms.
