Social Bookmarking to Promote Your Network Marketing Business

Social bookmarking sites initially were just bookmarking sites and were introduced so you didn't lose your bookmarks if your computer crashed. These sites eventually evolved into social sites as the web 2.0 craze grew. They have become a popular way to store, classify, share and search links.

1. Stumbleupon
2. Furl
3. Digg
4. Del.icio.us
5. Many more

Social bookmarking sites are really a bunch of classified links to your internet marketing content. They can provide some useful link value to web pages and help pages get indexed more regularly when the bookmarks are made public and include titles, descriptions and tags.

This is important as it can bring traffic to your site in two ways. First, links from other sites increase your ranking in the search engines, and it can be very difficult if not impossible to get your site high in the search engines without any links from high ranking sites.

The second way is related to bookmaking sites becoming social in nature. Often you will get traffic directly from the bookmaking sites as others that use the sites you have bookmarked from, come and search for information on your topic.

There are a few things you should remember when bookmarking so you don't get accused of being a selfish promoter.

Some General Guidelines

1. Make it look natural, not just spamming your own sites, submit others too
2. Bookmark 3-5 other sites between each time you mark your own and vary the number
3. Mark sites on other subjects that you are interested in, not just the subject of your own content
