Social Bookmarking - Hot New Traffic Trend

If you're doing business on the 'web, or just looking to gain added exposure for your causes and websites, you need to be engaging the public in your social bookmarking strategy.

Anyone who has a site or blog on the 'net can take advantage of the growing number of web 2.0 sites and dominate them by sharing their links virally.  Instead of generating traffic as a one-horse machine, it's better if you can have a team of people doing the work for you - for free.

Social bookmarking is when you go to the various bookmarking sites like Technorati, Del.icio.us, and more - and have your links uploaded so that they can be shared with others in the community.  Those who find your links valuable then add your link to their bookmarks and spread the word.

Consumer-to-consumer recommendations are far more powerful than even the highest paid advertising.  With millions of prospects being exposed to your links by your target audience, it's like having a greased portal funneling cash-in-hand customers right to your domain.

For an in-depth tutorial on how to set up a complete social bookmarking strategy for increased traffic, visit Social Bookmark Traffic and start leveraging the viral force of your target audience today!

A Prime Example of Social Bookmarking

StumbleUpon Social Bookmarking Sites

The next time you're surfing the 'net, you might want to stop by your own domains and StumbleUpon them with a thumbs-up rating.

StumbleUpon is a social nookmarking site where people can include a link they landed on, add comments, give it a thumbs up (or down), and add it to the network of surfer who stumble from one site to the next.

Your toolbar will include the thumb icons, and you can add your site to the mix. You enter the title of the site and post a review. Choose which topic it's in, and bookmark it.

Some surfers look for new and interesting sites by clicking the Stumble button. This takes them randomly through different sites within the same category, and your site will now be part of those visited by the Stumbling community.

Can You Digg It?

Digg is one social bookmarking site with an attitude. The tight-knit community can cause your servers to shut down with the flood of traffic they send your way, and while that may sound like a terrible thing, it's something most marketers drool over.

With Digg users, they're very aware of whether or not yuo're submitting spam sales pages or articles their community will find relevant.

If they don't Digg your submission, they'll "Bury" it, and other users won't get to see it because it'll stay so low on the hierarchy of relevancy.

The best thing to do is get an account, Digg articles you find interesting, and encourage other people to Digg your page.

In fact, you can Digg this lens if you want to - just click on the Digg This link on the left side of the lens.

Feed Me Links

Don't over look this site

Feed Me Links has some wacky, oddball stuff. Take, for instance, the tagline, "Some people just want to be stalked," under which is a picture of a lady with a giant feather headdress with her arm around a clown. They look like good friends... it's a little creepy.

Feed Me Links is there to help you organize your bookmarks online. It also aims to be a place where you can find stuff that interests you, and share what you find with other users. It's an ideal site for "information junkies." They have a fairly low traffic users' mailing list that you can subscribe to.

On Feed Me Links, they are aiming to get back to the "fun" of social bookmarking. This means it's easy to use, and the system is set up for networking. There is no complicated geek stuff that you need to know, have or do to use Feed Me Links. Of course, this doesn't mean that you can't use high tech toys to pimp out your profile, just that you don't need them to do so.

A lot of the stuff on FML is quirky, esoteric, unusual or strange. There is also quite a bit of news and tech stuff, although that's only part of it. Some of the links are blatant advertising by companies, like an online book store and a franchising service; which means that YOU can advertise too!

Feed Me Links advertises itself as an "open space" where users create content. Beside each link is a place where users can click on "spam?" or look at the users' profile. The most popular users are also listed on the front page under "Hall of fame." Also, you can see the top linkers' profile pics on the other side.

Everything is stripped down and easy to use. There are tutorials all over the site for doing even the simplest thing, but also for more complicated stuff. You can submit links from your email address, so you don't even have to be on Feed Me Links to do it.

You can tag your links any way you want to. Some of the most popular tags on Feed Me Links are things like "strange," "useful," or "ridiculously cute." These serve as categories as well, and you can also find more conventional tags. The idea is to help users find interesting things they might not otherwise get.

Even though it seems like most people are on Feed Me Links for entertainment purposes, FML welcomes the business community. You're free to post whatever you'd like on FML, but be warned that if nobody thinks it's interesting, it won't get ranked very high.

Barrier To Admission

power of social bookmarking

Have you started to realize the power of social bookmarking? Does it excite you to think of letting your site visitors bring you more traffic, automatically? If you've read the free chapter from
"Bookmark Traffic Secrets Revealed" I sent you I'll bet you're starting to get stoked!

I wanted to share a thought with you, about something called a "barrier to admission". It's the idea that most people won't try something new unless it takes very little effort. If it's not a point here, click there solution, most people won't do it. The "barrier to admission" is too high for them.

But the easier something is to do, the more people will do it. And the more people are doing a thing the more difficult it is to stand out from the crowd.

That's why most people play the search engine game. It has a very low barrier to admission. All you do is learn a little about how to find a decent keyword and you're off to the races!

But everybody's doing it and it's very hard to come out on top of a million other people doing the same thing.

That's one reason I love social bookmarking, it leaves all that search engine hoopla behind. Sure you have to put yourself out there a little bit, but when you do, when you take the little bit of extra effort that sets you apart from the crowd, you'll find it is worth it.

If you haven't read the free chapter I sent you yet, what are you waiting for? If you have, and are beginning to see how social bookmarking can make all the difference, why not get the entire book right now and get started? Just click on the following link

Streams of Communication

More Social Bookmarking

"Streams of Communication" is the idea that when you make one contact with a person, opening the door to interact with them, you've created a trickle of communication. Repeat this small effort of reaching out and you'll have developed several small streams of communication.

And what do you get when several small streams are all running in the same direction? A river!

On the Internet, that river means massive traffic.

Another thing about streams, many of them run into a giant river somewhere. In other words they've got connections. If you open up one small stream of communication you never know what river you might tap into.

It's also been called a "Circle of Influence". Some people are quite connected. They have circles of influence as big as a raging river. What if they visit your site and find something they like,
do you think they'll want to share it with their circle of influence?

You bet.

But how much extra work will they be willing to do? If it just takes the click of a button and logging into a social bookmarking site, aren't they likely to share what they've found?

You've got to set it up for them. Your website has got to be able to open those small streams of communication or you'll never be able to tap into that river of massive traffic.

If you want your site to be river-compatible. If you can see the value of opening streams of communication with your site visitors, I encourage you to get your copy of "Social Bookmark Secrets Revealed" and put it into action.

You never know where that one extra contact with a visitor to your site may lead.

What is a dike?

Dikes and social Bookmarktraffic

All that talk about water in my last email got me thinking about Dikes. As you probably already know, a dike is a wall which holds back water. In Holland they are used to keep the fields from flooding.

What happens if you get a small hole in a dike? Well, it's pretty easy to fix and nothing much comes of it. But what if you get two holes in the dike? Three? Seven?

With each hole it becomes more difficult to hold back the water.

Have you ever seen what happens when there are too many holes in something like a dike or a dam? Eventually the water violently explodes through! All those little holes compromise the integrity of the dike and it gives way.

Internet Traffic can be like that. The more you have the easier it is to get, that is, when you're hooked in with social bookmarking.

Each individual visitor is like a hole in the dike, and when you have enough the dike will give way to traffic like you've never dreamed.

But all that's stopping you right now from realizing massive traffic is the knowledge to implement these Web 2.0 techniques. And all that's stopping you from having that knowledge getting your copy of "Social Bookmark Secrets Revealed" and reading it from
front to back.

I think once you start reading it, you'll want to devour the entire thing. You'll see how powerful social bookmarking can be.

All that stands in the way right now is clicking the link I've provided at the bottom and getting your copy.

Easy, isn't it? Go ahead, poke a few holes in the dike and see what happens.
