Tactics and Strategies
The simple point I making with this lens is that in order to achieve either personal or business happiness with social networking requires that you know and articulate your interest with explicit detail.
With that in main - the Socratic method I use draws those insights out and from there you can build both tactics and strategies.
Reputation Investment
The construction of all human to human activities is in their exchanges - reputation in this sense is an investment of exchanges made at an earlier time that provides certain benefits at another, later.
Business Reputation
Build your organizational and individual reputation through social networking.

Tools at work, play around our lives everywhere
Many of the social "conversations" we have on the net - seem shorter and shorter - are the satisfying - because our attention spans are growing shorter and shorter - does that continue to satisfy or are there new tools around the corner?

People will begin to mix business with social networking. In fact, check out my brand new site OurCityNeeds.com that lets consumers voice their opinions for businesses they would like to see in their city. Log in and give us your business request; if your city is not on the list yet, shoot me an e-mail at brett@ourcityneeds.com and we will get it added ASAP.
Ahmady, at 8pm on April 20, 2009 predicts:
I'm unsure of the future of social interaction on the web. It seems to me that there is a bewildering array of websites, and as a newbie to Squidoo and creating a web presence, I'm really not sure how all this fits into what I want to achieve, and that I will get any satisfaction from numerous random connections. I feel burnt out already. I think new models of social interaction will evolve, but when and how I can't predict. And then, too, I think a lot depends on what the individual hopes to achieve through a web presence.
iac_professionals, at 5pm on March 30, 2009 predicts:
I think short conversations have just as much value as longer ones, depending on the situation. They each have a place and their own value. Of course, with the continuing, swift growth of social media, I'm sure there are many more exciting tools to come.

- Yasns-blogs is a time line for social network sites that are primarily blogging services like LiveJournal, Xanga, and Vox. Likewise yasns-dating is for dating sites that are primarily social network sites. And social-software for related projects. Some have been view as social networks but that are not primarily social network sites (like Flickr, MeetUp, 43Things, and YouTube) or are software meant to support social network sites (like identity tools and aggregators). I did this for my own sanity; we can debate these categories later.

Take note that for each style, there are attributes that can be seen as both positive and negative. That said, be careful of stereotyping people.
