Social Networking Scripts | phpFoX and AbleSpace Review

I was involved with the phpFoX script for nearly 2 years. I'm still helping clients fix their sites and keep them updated, etc.

phpFoX has become a thing of the past for most Social Networking Site owners.

Able Space by ABK Soft has become the future of Social Networking Scripts.

AbleSpace provides its owners and website users a variety of excellent tools and such. With Games (3d city is simply WICKEDLY AWESOME!), Chat, etc - Able Space has become the PREMIERE Social Networking Platform on the market.

While scripts like BuddyZone has lost touch with its customer base, phpFoX losing faith from it's customers and Handshakes just losing ground... Able Space continues to move forward with Customer Feedback and it's own innovative thinking.

It's great to see companies like ABK Soft creating products like Able Space and seeing them actually listening to what the CUSTOMER needs.

It's also great to see those customers, the website owners, listening to what THEIR customers, their members, are saying... this gives great feedback to the actual company who develops the script.

This is something phpFoX had done for quite a while but slowly stopped doing, for some reason.

Time goes on... and so many scripts get left behind.

AbleSpace is insane with features... almost TOO MANY.... but it IS priced higher than others. Then again... if you have many (or more than 1 or 2) Social Networking Scripts - you could actually save a TON of money by purchasing a Multi-license from ABK Soft!

DZOIC Handshakes

phpFoX version 1.6 has been released:

We would like to announce that Version 1.6 (Build 17) has been released.

Requirement: v1.6 Build 16 (First Release of v1.6)

Note the reserved release was Build 2, however last Friday (14th) we had released Build 1 for public testing and during the weekend we were able to fix several issues which brought the build count to 16 when the release came out on Monday. So this is the reason we are at Build 17.

With this build we have fixed various issues:

* message reply is default to quote
* Private Groups - Admins cant view or delete
* Cosmetic Issue with INSTANT MESSENGER status: Be Right Back
* Shoutbox
* Paypal Transfer not happening
* Cosmetic issues on index.visitor.php page
* Comments
* Can't resize Tinymce in live chat

The following issues we have added a fix as well, however we are leaving these cases as "Unconfirmed" until we get confirmation from the community that it has been fully resolved. These issues include:

* HTML Comments
* Shoutbox XML error
* Upgrade from 1.1 - not all profile images are copied over

We have added the following changes/features:

* URLS CaSe Sensitive
* live chat
* SIGN UP BUG
* Rating Flaw

You will notice we have provided 3 different methods to install this build. Attached with this announcement you will find a ZIP file "build1.6-17_patched_files.zip". This ZIP is used with Method 2. You will also find a Patch file "build1.6-17.patch". This is used for Method 3. Note that installing a new build you are required to have version 1.6 Build 16 installed. If you are using a version older then that you are required to do the default upgrade procedure (http://wiki.phpfox.com/guide/Konsort_1.6/Upgrade).
