Soda Pop Experiments
Remember...Safety First!!!!!! Be careful out there.
Diet Coke and Mentos
Open a 2 liter bottle of Diet Coke. Immediately place mint-flavored Mentos into the bottle (at least 4...or use the whole tube). The reaction causes the Diet Coke to erupt out of the bottle.A variation of this experiment consists of making the bottle rocket up by closing the cap shortly after Mentos is inserted and then slamming the bottle into the ground cap first. The explosion will generate a reaction like a rocket.

- Who would have thought that someone would write about this? Great lens! Don't know that I have the guts to try these things, but I'm sure my 5-year old would love it if I did.

- My kids always love fun, hands-on experiments, especially when they fizz and pour all over the table.
