Overview of Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila Hotel

The Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila Hotel is a five (5)-star hotel that sits imposingly along Roxas Boulevard in Pasay, Metro Manila Philippines. I discovered this great place when I happened to be at Manila during a festival of plays and the hotel never left my mind.

First was its convenient location. Just a 30-minute car ride from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Sofitel Philippine Plaza is the best choice if one is looking for a classy nook to stay in Manila. An additional plus is that it's near the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Built by former first lady Imelda Marcos, this architectural feat plays host to the country's most celebrated artistic events.

If art is not your cup of tea, just a stone's throw away from CCP would be the Harbor View Square where bars, coffee shops and restaurants abound and will keep your night life alive, as it kept mine. A few San Miguel Beers at Dencio's then chill out with a Venti Mocha Frappe from Starbucks while staring at the hypnotizing darkness of the Manila Bay at night.

If you are not the outgoing type, Sofitel Philippine Manila can certainly still please you with its amenities and in-room fixtures. You can concoct your own drinks in your own and fully-stocked minibar then watch pay-per-view channels in your colored TV or take a warm or cold bath in our classy bathrooms. Security is assured by audible smoke alarms, dead bolt and sprinkler in rooms and a safe-deposit box where you could put your precious belongings for the duration of your stay.

Watching plays can be tiring and the Sofitel has the perfect solution for that: food. For starters, you could try for light snacks at 7Pecados or for pastries and chocolates at Le Bar. If fine dining is what you want, The Spiral with its international cuisine is the place for you. But a personal favorite is the Sunset Bar where you are served marinated steaks, grilled seafood, fresh fruit juices, by the pool while watching cultural song and dance numbers. After a while, you could shoot pools at The Sports Bar and once again enjoy San Migue Beer during happy hours from 5:00-8:00pm.

So, if your searching for nice Manila Hotels to crash and enjoy not just art but great service which is almost artistic, book now at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Hotel.

Surrounding the Sofitel Philippine Manila is an assortment of leisurely activities such as a visit to the animals at the Manila Zoo or at the Manila Ocean Park, or maybe going shopping at the country's largest mall, SM Mall of Asia, or better yet (if one could somehow make them) watch a play or two at the Cultural Center of the Philippines-the artistic masterpiece which showcases the country's brightest artistic talents-just a stone's throw away from the hotel.

And to those who doesn't sleep that much, the Harbor View Square can offer a nice hang-out place to spend the deep night at, staring at the elegant darkness of the Manila Bay at night.
