Solar Powered Lights for Outside Options to Consider
Ranked #23,285 in Home & Garden, #347,633 overall
Solar Lights have recently grabbed my attention because they are so convenient for many purposes outdoors. I love the fact these lights require no wiring and no electric to be useful. They take advantage of the sun's energy with their solar cells and then store that energy in the included batteries so when evening comes you have light.
Outside Lighting Tips
Many people use these lights for paths leading to their home and to show off their gardens at night. They sure make a valuable difference in the night time appearance of a home. Solar lights are usually light weight and easy to move from one location to another so you are not tied to a tether, so to speak, as you would be with wired lighting.
My favorite use for solar lights is taking them on our camping trips with our children. We like to go to the woods and camp for the evening. Our children love them because they establish a parameter and they feel like they've established an outdoor sanctuary. We like to make a path leading to our camp site with them also so our way is lit making for a safe and stumble free trip from the car to the camp site.
We usually charge our solar garden lights prior to going on our camping trips so they have a full charge from the moment we need them at our camp site. Surprisingly, they get enough sun even in our woods pathway to keep lit for several hours at night making them useful for our entire trip. I am sure there are many other uses you can create for the convenience that solar path lights have.
Solar lights for outside makes a great addition for any homeowner's night time decor. Once you begin using solar lighting, you will wonder why you didn't try them sooner. And the great thing about them is they are a low cost purchase. It is nice to know you can have the convenience of solar lighting without breaking the bank.

Solar String Lights
Solar Garden Lighting
Solar string Lights make a beautiful tree really stand out at night. These lights are great because you do not need to run any power from your home to use them. Solar string lights operate by storing energy from the sun all day long and at night use that stored energy to produce light to accent your garden, trees, lattice, etc. These lights will usually stay lit all night long.Solar lights automatically turn on at night and then automatically turn off at dawn. In some areas, your solar lights may not stay illuminated all evening. If this happens, your lights are not getting enough exposure to the sun during the day to fully recharge. So when you purchase these lights, you must weigh whether you want your lights to remain on all night or not. If you prefer having the ability to turn your lights on and off at your whim, you may want to consider traditional string lights. Otherwise, solar string lights will make a great addition to your night time decor.
When you purchase any solar lights, you should give them an initial charge before you start using them. This way, the batteries start with a full charge and will work more consistently and last for a longer period of time. At least, this has been my experience with any rechargeable battery. It is always best to start with fully charged batteries.
