Solar Electricity - Going Green in a Solar Electric Home

We use solar electricity to provide power for our solar home. We also heat and cool our home using solar energy. The latest buzzword calls this going green. We like to share what we have learned over the last 21 years about solar electricity. It is our goal to continually improve this site with new ideas about renewable green energy. We also created a website that not only tells how we do it, but shows you as well using videos.

You can also visit our website Living On Solar

What Does Living Off The Grid Mean

The electricity that we use in our home is produced by our own system that uses solar electric panels and various other equipment. We do not have any power lines in front of, or even close to our home. A power company does not supply our electricity.

What Is The Difference?

1. We are responsible for providing electricity to our home.

2. We do not run every large appliance at once.

3. We do not receive a monthly electric bill.

4. We have not had a power outage in over 20 years.

What Is The Same

1. The power that we generate is basically the same as that from a power company.

2. Our house has the same plugs as any other house.

3. We watch TV and eat microwave popcorn just like everyone else.

This is an outstanding site that will tell you everything you need to know about converting your home to solar electricity. It has excellent how-to videos, along with links (if you feel you need them) to additional information, including books, related web sites, even solar electricity news. It couldn't get any better.
