HERE'S WHAT I THINK

Solar Energy is the best form of renewable energy!

Ok so solar panels are not as efficient as they could be. But PV cells work if there is light - no waiting for the tides or for the wind to blow or the ice to melt on the stream. Definitely no starving people as farmers turn to growing poor food source crops to turn into bio fuels! Solar is reliable, clean, and comparable maitenance free. Finally without the sun other forms of energy wouldn't exist.

Yes, you're right!

Hu Man says:

Quite right.
If governments around the world weren't so supportive of big business, solar would have been in widespread use decades ago, but microgeneration does not provide profits. $300billion is spent annually on fossil fuel subsidies to support coal/gas/oil, imagine if just some were re-invested to help solar, we would all live much healthier lives and just perhaps save the planet for our successors. Luckily, the chinese are making solar indisputably cheap, modules now being made for less than $1/watt. Solar will happen despite the politicians best efforts to prevent it. Solar is the cheapest, cleanest, most abundant and best solution for energy bar none.

Tom says:

@JD. I've heard the same. However solar can be used without pollution. For instance focusing it to create a heat source that drives steam generators or just to heat water in the home. I've even read that some scientists in Isreal have created cheaper lasers for surgical use by focusing the sun's power.

JD says:

Hi! I'm in favor of solar power by all means, I've worked in the renewable energy field for over 10 years now, primarily in the wind industry. I'm very keen of the solar industry and would like to develop large scale solar projects but I'd like to raise a question about the overall environmental impact of solar panels. I've read in several article that the manufacturing of solar panels is dangerous for the environment and that the gases that are released in the manufacturing process contribute to global warming. Can anyone share some knowledge on this matter? Looking forward to your comments!

samantha says:

Solar energy is by far the most efficient and effective form of renewable energy as it is cheaper, easier to sustain and maintain, and is without a doubt reliable!!! However i do believe that wind powered energy is also another renewable form of energy which should be considered.

daniel says:

yes is me solar is far the best

daniel says:

you are correct sooooooo much i am crying finely someone reallies ps am 13

bobbilly says:

i think that solar energy is the best form of energy. its clean, safe, and AWESOME!!!!!!!

purple83 says:

Yes you are right it is better for enviroment and this is the future. Ok the dumb dumb who said no over there obviously has no knowledge of this because with solar energy it can be stored for night use as well. We all need solar energy and it is the cheapest and best way to go. I give your lens 5 stars here a great way to spread a great message go green with solar energy!

Stevenchen18 says:

Yes. The Sun is the ultimate source of almost all the energy on earth. The beauty of solar energy is that you can get locally.

chemrat says:

Agreed! Wind, geothermal and hydroelectric also have important roles to play, depending on one's location.

No way, Monkeybrain!

fernando says:

puta

maxgladwell says:

Unfortunately, we need light at night when there is no solar power.
