Solar Power

This lens is dedicated to the subject of solar power: how we can use it to combat global warming, how we can use it to lower our expenditures on electricity and fuel, and other uses of solar power.

This includes the use of portable solar chargers to run electronic equipment, either during emergencies or when one is away from the power grids, solar power for the home, broad-scale solar power solutions, and the basics of how solar energy works.

Solar Power

Our Thoughts

We consider the technology of Solar Power to be one of the most under-utilized technologies on Earth today. Public awareness of environmental issues, Global Warming, and Alternative Energy sources is coming up. But there is so much more that could be done to really utilize solar energy to lower costs of energy, clean up the environment, and combat Global Warming.

Solar Power can also be used for matters of simple practicality. When one is traveling in the wilderness, far from the power grids, or even during times of emergency or natural catastrophe, portable solar chargers and solar battery chargers can be lifesavers.

There are a host of different portable solar power devices available on the market today, and all have different features and uses. The type you will need will depend on your specific circumstances and on which type of electronics or equipment you will need to charge or run. Sorting this out and finding the right device can be pretty confusing, especially if you don't have much training on electronics.

Our website is designed to help you understand solar energy and how it works, and also to help you find the right portable solar charger to suit your purposes, in case you are in need of such a device.

We intend to expand this website to cover other matters regarding solar power and renewable energy. If you visit the website, you can subscribe to be informed whenever we add new content and information. You can also subscribe to the RSS feed of the website's blog:

Great lens. I'm a tree hugger, nature lover and I try to do my share to lighten my footprint and save the planet and the wildlife. Living in the "Sunshine" state of Florida, I still can't figure out why solar power is the #1 source of energy here. I guess it all goes back the BIG OIL people.

One of the problems I found trying to find solar power solutions for people is that there are no contractors at the coast who put it in. We're not exactly Arizona! And we're not even as sunny as the "valley " around Portland and Salem.

So, it would be good to have extremely "user-friendly" products that don't require a lot of expertise to install. That probably goes for most DIY people and remodelers as well.
