What a perfect Christmas Lens of the Day! My soldiers are both home this year, to stay, and we are very blessed.

This is indeed a beautiful lens. Congratulations on a very deserving Lens of the Day and SquidAngel Blessings to you. Lensrolled to my Remembrance Day lens.

But can I just take this opportunity to remind everyone that there are troops from all over the world who are separated from their families this Christmas and, as you say, let us spare a thought for each and everyone of them and pray for their safe return.

In the UK, like everywhere else, there is hardly anyone who does not know of someone serving in armed combat at this time.

My own experience is meeting a young British soldier just 3 weeks after 3 of his friends were killed in a rocket attack. He survived because he could not sleep and got up and left his tent. The rocket came in behind him and there was nothing left.

He escaped without a scratch but 2 and a half years later he remains scarred mentally by his experience.

MY son decided he did not want to join the Marines after all, when he was in his teens. Had he not changed his mind then he would be serving now. I cannot beging to think what it must be like for these brave men and women and their families and friends who must be anxious for their safety every single minute of the day.

A beautiful tribute to our men and women in the armed forces. As an Army brat, I can appreciate the sacrifices these soldiers make and their families as well. Congrats on LOTD. Well deserved. Bear hugs, Frankie

So deserving of LOTD. I think back to my husband's years in the Air Force during the Vietnam conflict and how they felt no one appreciated them. I'm glad we have changed that mentality. Thank you for sharing this.

Beautifully done. Throughout the world and from so many countries men and women are placing their lives in danger in the defence of freedom for so many people. Over recent days our TV Stations in the UK have been carrying poignant messages from soldiers serving in many corners of the globe and our thoughts and prayers are with them all.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to express our gratitude, to remember those who have fallen and whose families will be facing Christmas without them.

Blessed by a Squid Angel and congratulations on LOTD

This beautiful and worthy lens is made all the more poignant by the fact that a British family lost their 21 year old son on Christmas Eve while he was on active service in Afghanistan. Lensrolled to my lens Remembrance Day - every day should be a Remembrance Day and we should all spend a few moments reflecting on the sacrifice so many people are making. Whether we agree that our servicemen and women should be on active service or not, is not the point - we should all pray for their safe return and we should remember them!

Such a touching tribute to our troops here and abroad, and while many may never see this, may God carry the grateful sentiment on gentle breezes to caress the faces of those soldiers providing comfort and protection like only He can.
    5 stars and a favorite

Thanks for supporting Soldiers' Angels. They supported our son so much when he was in Iraq. He was very, very touched to receive cards and letters from perfect strangers, and we were very appreciative as well.
