Awesome lens and great support, as stated by Chuck, most certainly a prize possession, I can relate to that having received gifts after Falklands conflict.

I received a blanket when I returned home from deployment in 2007. It is still one of my most prized possessions. Thanks for creating this great lens.

Excellent lens, excellent project. I have not heard of this before. My son is active duty USMC, my nephew is active duty Army, and we have a family member who was seriously wounded in Afghanistan. I say Thank You to anyone who supports our troops, wherever they are.

And the results of 6 known blessings and a Purple Star? Today the Blanket lens is Ranked #3 in Volunteering and #75 overall up from yesterday's ranking of Ranked #159 in Volunteering and #27231 overall. Ah the impact of many Angels and Purple Stars.

Beautiful lens and lovely purple star.

I work as a nurse, trained in Bereavement, and we make prayer shawls for moms who have lost a baby.

A real comfort--just as your blankets are!!

Make that 6 known Angel Blessings.

I am curious to see the impact of at least 5 Angel Blessings and a Purple Star (plus a few favorites and lens rankings) on the impact of the lens ranking.
Today it is Ranked #159 in Volunteering, #27231 overall. The boost will help raise some funds for a great cause.
I really need to donate some of my yarn and fabric stash to make some of these blankets.

Soldiers Angels were so good to my sons when they were serving in Iraq. They were both so touched by the kindness of strangers. Also, my mom's quilt club made quilts to donate and two of the quilts they sent went to Bob Woodruff of ABC News and his photographer when they were injured in Iraq. We know because he mentioned the name in his book. (Isn't that a cool story?) Congratulations on a wonderful lens and, particularly, on the purple star award!
  • ThomasC Apr 17, 2009 @ 10:35 am | delete
Congrats on being awarded a purple star! Squid Angel Blessed as well! Enjoy your lensrank boost!
