If you want to dedicate your life to writing music, (like I did) it is a good idea do a degree in music. Although it is not the easiest or the cheapest way to go, the fact is that most professional songwriters have some kind of musical education, the more the better.

University course would help you master your instrument of choice and provide you with all the songwriting help you need. However, going to university is a huge commitment and you should consider it carefully before making any decisions. Speaking from experience, studying music production and technology in UK has taught me sooo much!

Song Writing Help Point 2 - Read As Much As You Can

There are loads of useful books for songwriters out there. It is a good idea to go to the closest bookstore or library and start digging.

You don't have to read through the whole 'songwriting' section, most books cover similar subjects so that should be enough to read two or three of them. That might not be as good as studying full time, but still gives you a lot of help with your songwriting. And best of all, saves a lot of money. Song writing help does not have to be expensive!

Learning On The Internet - Best Song Writing Help Is On The Web!

Somehow similar, but in my opinion much better option, is learning on the Internet. There are more useful resources you might think.

And I think it is a better way than books, because you get to contact with people that are into the same things you are. There are many forums and online courses like this one, where you get access to comprehensive knowledge. The advantage is that you plan your learning schedule yourself, so you're always at the pace that suits you.
