From the lens Songs I Love - My Life, Inspired by Music.

I had so much fun putting this lens together, and believe me... it's a work in progress for as long as I can grace the pages of Squidoo.
Please let me know your thoughts! I'll add more as time goes on!

Well, Martin... Who on earth can argue with THAT? You clearly said what needed to be said...

Of course I just NOW found out that it was "Backward Day" on Squdoo! Thank you Martin. Now I get it! (Blonde moment!)

Wow, this is a great list of songs and many of them are songs that I love, too. I created a lens several years ago about The Brothers Four because we knew every song on every album by heart. Great lens!

What a wonderful anthology of the music that has been woven into your adventure of a life! Like you, I missed the music of the 60s and 70s when I "should have" been listening to it, but came to it later. Perhaps we have a deeper appreciation for it for coming to it now. Very much enjoyed this lens!

I am so glad you liked the selection! That means a lot! :)

Just listened to Joni . . . I never remember the names to songs! I always called that song "Pave Paradise." And oh, how true: "You don't know what you've lost 'til it's gone" - like my soprano voice, which once could have reached those high notes at the end . . . now I'm an alto/tenor - who knows? Maybe someday a baritone or a bass! *yikes*

I never knew what it was called either! :) Learned it later on when I began singing it... :)

Wow... I think I've found a kindred spirit! Music has been all-pervasive and influential in my life. I did learn to chord on the guitar a little bit, but my instrument of choice was (and is) the piano. I grew up listening to my mom playing the piano and singing, so it was in my blood and in the very air I breathed.
I communicate in English and in American Sign Language. My name sign (sign language name) is the letter "J" moving in the same manner as the sign for music. (Name signs are given to you by the deaf and typically reflect something about the real "you.")
Thank you, Kath, for an awesome page! :)

Hi Joie! My first instrument is definitely piano... I can chord a bit for singing folk music, that's about it. :)

This is absolutely fascinating about your ASL abilities as well! And, I had no idea that when we are speaking with someone who is deaf that we are given a name sign reflecting us! Perhaps I, too, would have a little music in my name! :) Hugs to you! Kath

Very unique lens. I'm a big Dan Fogelberg fan and was fortunate enough to hear him perform "To The Morning" in concert once. He did it unplugged; it was sensational as most of his performances were.

I'll never forget Dan...I had the honor of meeting and chatting a bit with him in Vail at a deli, before an unplugged performance that was a benefit for Gary Hart. He was just releasing "Leader of the Band." Great moment for me at that time!:)
