About Sonoran Way
Many years ago, we, a family of New York suburban slash city-folk, up and replanted ourselves into the northern part of Phoenix in the Sonoran Desert. What a culture shock! But, hey, they got over it! And we fell in love with the Sonoran Desert, it's beauty, and it's inhabitants. We love sharing what we have discovered, and we hope you enjoy your visit with us today!

The Sonoran Desert
An amazing place!
The Sonoran Desert is a North American desert which straddles part of the United States-Mexico border and covers large parts of the U.S. states of Arizona and California and the Mexican states of Sonora and Baja California. It is one of the largest and hottest deserts in North America, with an area of 120,000 miles. The desert contains a variety of unique plants and animals, such as the saguaro cactus. The Sonoran Desert is the only place in the world in which the saguaro grows in the wild. The Sonoran Desert includes 60 mammal species, 350 bird species, 20 amphibian species, 100+ reptile species, 30 native fish species, and more than 2000 native plant species. Despite the common stereotype that it does not rain in deserts, the Sonoran Desert is considered the wettest desert in the world, receiving 3 to 15 inches per year (depending on location in the desert).

- Nice site--I like the Cholla cactus the best. I've visited the Sonoran Desert a few times...and I went to both of the Saguaro National Parks in AZ, those were amazing. Good luck on your new project, the layout looks great!
