The HDR UX7 is great to handle, it grips like a dream. It's great not having to worry about accessing anything on the left side of the camcorder while it's being hand-held. The zoom toggle is good. Handling the manual control interface on the HDR UX7 is not bad - and that's saying something on a Sony. It utilizes a fine dial control and is probably the best of such dial controls seen on Sony crop.

The new menu system is broken into two separate menus, Home and Camera. The Home menu includes a variety of "movie" settings including recording quality settings and assignable dial settings, while the Camera menu includes most of the manual controls.

One of the biggest upgrades on the HDR-UX7 is the camcorder's 3.5" LCD screen. With a resolution of 211K, this monitor is nice and big, taking up the entire side of the camcorder, and is certainly an upgrade worth paying for. The camcorder also ships with a 0.27" widescreen viewfinder.

Not much to say here other than it's awesome! Until 1080p camcorders come out, this is the one to buy for ease of use and portability. Shipping was fast. I am completely satisfied with this product! Thanks Amazon & Sony for having/making an awesome camcorder!

Very easy to operate, high quality images and video, nice touch screen that responds very well, menu options are very few - but thats what all you need, very well thought about and provided inputs / outputs. And 5.1 mic works excellent!! Overall I will recommend any one to go for it. HDD I avoided as again I need to capture back and edit and burn DVD's! a NO - NO for me!

I have done a lot of research and spent a lot of time at many electronic stores, this Sony Camera is the Best Value for the money out there. If you just want to be able to record High Def movies fast and be able to have them on a DVD, this is the Camera for you. Don't worry about AVCHD format, very soon there will be many software programs to edit this format. I own 5 Macs and I know that in the next 2 months there will be at least 2 programs to edit AVCHD.
