I own a new 40" Sony Bravia LCD that I hooked this system up to. I was very impressed with its sound and its wide range of features for the price! However, there were a couple areas that I feel need to be addressed.
PROS:
- Excellent sound, especially the Movie DCS mode which adds a ton of depth to any movie
- Easy setup
- Excellent integration with a Sony TV. I can fully control my LCD from the receiver remote after hooking up the HDMI cables.
- Full HDMI switching makes initial connection and switching between sources a snap. I can switch between cable and my PS3 with 1 button.
- Wide range of format handling, including Linear PCM.
- Wide range of sound modes.
- No color distortion issues when switching between HDMI sources. This seemed to be a problem in older models.

You get HDMI (which stands for High Definition Multimedia Interface).
Remember the old school batch of cables you used to need to get all your stuff set up?
Basically what HDMI does is to take the place of the need for all those cables. It's a common interconnection.

The RHT Sony Sound Bar was the perfect solution for the sound system for our Wall mounted 52" Sony LCD. It is great looking, compact and produces very nice sound from the TV Signal, DVD, IPOD ( When you buy the cradle) and FM/ Input sources. The neat thing is the way it senses the input and will automatically switch sources. I have an aux. sub woofer, which I would recommmend. There are NO rear speakers to wire or buy. As I said above, the sound quality is good!, Good enough for me and is a reasonable trade-off for looks and simplicity. If you are a serious audiophile, you will probably want a conventional theater system. If you are like me and watch TV and ocassional movies, you will be very impressed.
Sony is great, I looked at other sound bars, but defaulted to the Sony brand and the Bravia system that all my comopnents have.
If you wall mount this, you may want to purchase some 90deg. HDMI adapters. It makes the cableing of the HDMI wires easier.

I bought these speakers to go with my dvd player that needed new speakers. When I opened the box they were brand new in a carton, They are authentic Sony speakers just like on the Sony website!! After I got speaker wire and hooked them up I WAS SO IMPRESSED.
The sound is awesome, I might even get some for my mom and little brother for Christmas. What an awesome product ! ((Also they shipped the SAME day I bought them and arrived in TWO days!! FAN-TA-STIC!!))
