Sony PRS-600 Features

What makes the Sony Touch Reader so good

The Sony PRS-600, available in black, silver, or red, weighs just less than 300 grams and has a 6" touch-sensitive screen utilising eInk technology. This means that the text is easy to read for the user, similar to a normal printed page. It comes with a stylus to highlight text and make notes on ebooks and documents, making it perfect for both business and pleasure. There are 5 different font sizes to choose from, and it supports ePub, Word, pdf and TXT formats. There is a bookmark function to take you immediately back to the last page you were reading, and a built-in Oxford dictionary - all you have to do is double tap the word. Just make sure that the language setting is English, otherwise the dictionary setting will be disabled.

To enable the dictionary function click on 'more' on the homepage, and then click on 'settings' and then 'advanced settings.' Finally click on 'dictionary' and simply choose the dictionary you want.

The Sony PRS-600 also has a function to listen to music as you read with the built in MP3 player and headphones socket. The Sony PRS-600 will allow for up to 6800 page turns with one battery charge. It has a 512MB built in memory which will allow you to store up to 350 ebooks, however it also has upgradable memory up to 16GB - that's almost 10,000 ebooks!

How To Reset Your Sony PRS-600

How to perform a hard reset

Quick tip - if something goes wrong with your Sony PRS-600 Touch ereader (it can happen) you can reset the device by taking a paper clip or something similar and pushing in the reset button on the back of the device for 5-10 seconds. If this doesn't work you can perform a factory default reset, but BEWARE - this will delete all of your content!!! To perform the factory reset, press the reset button as above, and then power on the device. As it boots, press and hold the back button and the volume up button. You will be asked if you want to delete all content and return to factory default settings - push "yes" and the screen will flash a couple of times and then the device will reboot itself. When it boots again it will be back to its factory settings.
