However, the prices on standalone units have dropped making the gaming console a pricier option for watching your blu-ray movies. However, this unit still scores high with organizations like CNNMoney who said, that "its Profile 2.0 support, quick load times and obvious extra benefits (gaming) made it a surefire winner." You will have to decide for yourself - if you are interested in the gaming aspect, the PS3 is still a great deal. If you are not interested in the gaming, there may be other options. There are definitely standalone units that are less expensive but they may or may not have the same great reputation that the PS3 has.
