Easy homemade Italian sorbet recipe

What is sorbet?
Sorbet is a dairy-free Italian frozen dessert. Its primary ingredients are water, sugar, and fruit. It is therefore a clean, low-fat dessert with intense flavours. It is easy to make and requires very preparation beforehand.
Sorbet should not be stored for long as it will freeze solid quite easily and lose its texture.
Basic sorbet recipe

- Serves: 1 quart
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 cups pureed fruit
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup water
Instructions
Pour the water and sugar into a heavy saucepan. Heat on medium until the sugar dissolves (about 170 degrees). Boil for one minute. Let cool for at least one hour.
Once cool, add the vanilla extract and pureed fruit. Combine until smooth with a stick blender.
Pour resulting mixture into your sorbet maker and process as per the maker's instruction booklet. When it's done, transfer sorbet to a freezer-safe container and freeze for several hours before serving.
