In the UK the original book was released as 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' which I think is a much better title. However, when Scholastic Books Americanized the book, the title was changed.

I remember the first time I read this book and I thought it was the greatest thing ever. Granted, I was 11 years old at the time and therefore believe that on the 1st of september, when I would be starting secondary school, I would be informed at the last minute that I would in fact be attending Hogwarts.
Obviously, this never happened, but my school DOES happen to be an old castle on the edge of a cliff, so I suppose I got closer than most.
