What's Within Your Soul?

Soulcalibur IV is the fifth game in the Soul series of fighting games developed and produced by Namco. In the biggest WTF in gaming since the launch of Second Life, Darth Vader, the Apprentice and Yoda, characters from the Star Wars universe will be playable guest characters in SoulCalibur 4.

Also, for the first time in the series, "Soulcalibur IV" will have the option to fight against other players online. Confirmed versus-modes available in online battles are "Standard VS" (for classic matches) and "Special VS" (for customized characters). Director Katsutoshi Sasaki has mentioned that created characters will be playable in the online multiplayer mode. (read more)

How to LEARN Soul Calibur 4 CRITICAL FINISHERS!

Soulcalibur IV features an all-new Critical Finish system. Next to players' Health Meters is a colored gem that represents the "Soul Gauge." The color gradually changes from blue to green and eventually to red and then flashing red. If the character manages to empty out the opponent's Soul Gauge, he or she will get a short chance to perform a powerful Critical Finish move, which will defeat the opponent instantly, by pressing all four face buttons at the same time. Namco says that it developed the Soul Gauge to decrease the benefits from constant guarding.

Great graphics and fun multi-player gameplay

Soul Calibur 4 is the latest release in a great series of fighting games. The HD graphics are quite impressive, and the character customization adds a unique new dimension to fighting gameplay. I doubt a game like this is really meant to be bought for single player. Clearly, you're expect to hone your skills in your own time so that you can lay down the law against your friends in multi player mode.

One thing about fighting against the apprentice is he likes to circle around the back of you and do the hard-hitting back throw. I lost to him on easy several times before I noticed this trick. I just wanted to unlock him on easy and he was still tough. But then I went in to training and versus modes with Algol and wailed on his ass for a little payback lol.
