After separating from legendary metal band Sepultura, of which he was a founding member, Max Cavalera founded Soulfly. The groove/thrash metal band has had many lineup changes, with Cavalera the only constant.
Across five studio albums Soulfly has experimented with a number of different styles and sounds, including African and South American tribal and world music influences, while always staying true to Max's metal roots.
