Southern Peach Cobbler Recipe Directions
Just follow these simple directions!
- Serves: 8
- Prep Time: 15 Minutes
- Total Time: 1 Hour
Ingredients
- 2 cups white sugar
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 4 cups peeled sliced peaches
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
- 8 tablespoons butter
- Ground cinnamon
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine the peaches, 1 cup of the sugar and the water in a saucepan and mix well.
Bring it to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes.
Remove the mixture from the heat.
Put the butter in a 3-quart baking dish and place it in the oven to melt.
Mix the remaining 1 cup of sugar with the flour and milk slowly to prevent clumping.
Pour the mixture over the melted butter.
Do not stir.
Spoon the fruit on top, gently pouring in the syrup.
Sprinkle the top with ground cinnamon.
The batter will rise to top during baking.
Bake for 30 to 45 minutes.
To serve, scoop on to a plate and serve with your choice of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream
