Why Southern Women Love Palin

We southern ladies have a long history of being strong women. We also are known to stick together and support our own. So why would we support Palin? Well, she too is a strong women. The more we find out about her the stronger we realize she is and the more support we give her.

A woman as Vice President? A lot of folks are saying that we are not ready for that yet, but we say it's long overdue! Southern women have been running things just fine down here for centuries...if we can run our home, families, jobs, communities, and just about everyting else, Palin is surely qualified to help run our country.

Family Values

Sarah Palin seems to be someone who appreciates family values. She is raising her family while working at something for which she is passionate. We read about her going to soccer games, joining the PTA, and firing the chef provided for the governor and cooking for her family. We see her experiencing the joys and trials of raising a special needs child. We see her dealing with the issues one faces when raising teens.

Seems alot like what we do on a daily basis doesn't it?

This alone should be a primary reason to vote for Sarah Palin. She is a working mom dealing with her job, her children, and a marriage. When I vote I choose a candidate whose views closely match mine on the issues that are important to me and nothing is more important than my family.

I feel Palin will show an interest in education and family. These broad topics include such things as day care, health care, hunger, women in the work force, taxes, teacher pay, school policy, and so much more.

If she follows through, like I think she will, in the next 2 months she will definately have my vote.

We southern women are big on family values, and Palin is the only candidate I see making a family meal after a long work day and sitting down to enjoy it with her family.

These great books will help you understand the election.

Palin's daughter pregnant!

OK! We have all heard the story and we all have our own opinions. What we need to realize is that this is a family matter and we should give the Palin fanily our silent support and our prayers, not our scorn, in their time of need.

If you are a parent you must realize that things happen. We, as parents, may not be overjoyed by everything our children do but we love them and we support them. The Palin's are showing great strength as they go through this ordeal in the public eye.

It is not our job to try Sarah Palin's daughter, and her parenting, in the court of public opinion. I think we must, as in all things, put ourselves in her situation and think long and hard about what we would do in similar circumstances.

Is this a reason not to vote for Palin? No, if anything it is a reason to vote for Palin! She is facing a difficult situation, she is not trying to hide it, and she will be a more knowlegable and better candidate for it.

If, by chance, your teenage daughter became pregnant, or perhaps already is, I think you and all of us, will benifit from Palin's experience. I don't think this is a policy making issue but I do think it is a human one, one in which she and her family deserve our support and prayers.

So...Southern women, and all women, become informed! Follow the debates, follow legitimate news, visit Palin and McCain's websites.

Above all VOTE for a candidate who will bring family values to Washington. SARAH PALIN!

CAPITAL GAINS TAX

MCCAIN
0% on home sales up to $500,000 per home (couples). McCain does not propose any change in existing home sales income tax.

OBAMA
28% on profit from ALL home sales. (How does this affect you? If you sell your home and make a profit, you will pay 28% of your gain on taxes. If you are heading toward retirement and would like to down-size your home or move into a retirement community, 28% of the money you make from your home will go to taxes. This proposal will adversely affect the elderly who are counting on the income from their homes as part of their retirement income.

)

DIVIDEND TAX

MCCAIN
15% (no change)

OBAMA
39.6% - (How will this affect you? If you have any money invested in stock market, IRA, mutual funds, college funds, life insurance, retirement accounts, or anything that pays or reinvests dividends, you will now be paying nearly 40% of the money earned on taxes if Obama becomes president. The experts predict that 'Higher tax rates on dividends and capital gains would crash the stock market, yet do absolutely nothing to cut the deficit.

')

INCOME TAX

MCCAIN (no changes)
Single making 30K - tax $4,500
Single making 50K - tax $12,500
Single making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 60K- tax $9,000

Single making 75K - tax $23,250
Married making 60K - tax $16,800
Married making 75K - tax $21,000
Married making 125K - tax $38,750
Under Obama, your taxes could almost double!

INHERITANCE TAX

MCCAIN
- 0% (No change, Bush repealed this tax)

OBAMA
Restore the inheritance tax

Many families have lost businesses, farms, ranches, and homes that have been in their families for generations because they could not afford the inheritance tax. Those willing their assets to loved ones will only lose them to these taxes.

NEW TAXES PROPOSED BY OBAMA

New government taxes proposed on homes that are more than 2400 square feet. New gasoline taxes (as if gas weren't high enough already) New taxes on natural resources consumption (heating gas, water, electricity) New taxes on retirement accounts, and last but not least....New taxes to pay for socialized medicine so we can receive the same level of medical care as other third-world countries!!!

I would love to hear from you, share your thoughts below! Politics is a sensitive issue so it will be interesting to hear from both sides. Please be polite. I would never make rude comments on someone else's board and hope to have the same courtesy from others. And before you ask (like poor Donny who was so upset he posted his comments twice) I have checked my facts and you can too at the sites listed. I know that their are other views, please do not assume I am that stupid. As I said before, choose the issues that matter most to you and vote accordingly. Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you!

This is laughable. I'm bookmarking this site and sending it out to my friend with more than two brain cells to rub together.

    Sarah Palin is an idiot.
John McCain is a doddering old fool who needs to retire.
Your figures are serious lacking credibility when a simple google search turned up alternate numbers that actually, OMG, provide BACKUP to how they got their calculations.

I'll tell you why southern women love Palin. Because they're dim witted and unfortunately expect a woman to be stupid. Palin is RIIGHT up their alley.

This strong woman makes Miss South Carolina sound like a Rhoades Scholar. She is freaking clueless. Just ask Katie Couric.

    Wow,
I c/n believe the hostility this site has generated! It has also generated lots of kudos, so THANKS! I have posted some of the good and some of the bad below so you can get a small taste of the comments I am getting.
I would like to once again ask people to be mature when responding...when you stoop to name calling, etc. it only makes what you stand for look bad. As always I believe everyone desrves their say and their own opinion! Because I feel this way I would never critize someone personally just because we do not share the same views.
So please continue to send your comments and I will continue to post some of them...I will no longer post any that are negative attacks on me. I will happily post comments that do not agree with my point of view if they are serious comments. You are welcome to your view on the issues and I love a good debate. For all of you posting kudos...keep them coming, I will post some of them also!

so, because she's a working mother that alone is enough to vote for her? Have you lost your mind? I'm a working mother, and I frankly, am not qualified. I would be better than Sarah though. At least I don't lie.

You're site is full of lies and half truths. If you can't speak the truth about her and make her sound good, then she isn't a good candidate.

Here are some truths that you can verify!

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/story/2008/06/09/ST2008060900950.html

Note in the second link that under OBAMA the average American (those making less than 100k/year) will actually save more in tax cuts than they will under McCain!!!

...and Don't even get me started on the debt, talk about big spenders and big govt...

    See any trend there?

If you're dumb enough to believe the lies that's fine, but don't try to pass them off on other people.
