Soy Candles and Soy Jar Candles

Did you know that all soy candles are not made alike? That's right, some are more environmentally friendly than others; some burn better than others, and some last longer than others.

In this lens I'll show you the best soy candles to buy and how to tell the difference between a good candle and a not so good soy candle.

Little Known Facts About Soy Candles

Soy candles are relatively new to the market. They were invented in 1992 a cheaper alternative to bees wax.

When you're looking around at Soy candles you'll want to be sure to find out what the blend is. You see soy wax is very soft and so most of the time a soy candle is really a soy blend candle. The blend is most often going to be paraffin as that is what traditional wax is mad of.

The less paraffin the more environmentally friendly.

Soy candles are even better for the landfill as they are made of a biodegradable material.

The more soy wax the quicker that it burns.

Many people find soy candles to be more richly scented. The reason is that they hold more scent because the wax is more porous.

The reason you don't find many free standing soy candles is the softness of the wax.

Soy candles also usually have a more silky, rich, warm look to them.

The first time you burn your soy candles, you need to have time to let them burn. The idea is to teach your candle a burn pattern. The general rule of thumb is measure the candle diameter and burn the candle for an hour for each inch it is wide. Make sure the wick stays in the center.

When putting out your soy candle, you should dip the wick into the wax, instead of blowing it out.
