So, you want to start a blog huh? And you don't really know where to begin? Well, you've come to the right place, because I'm here to help. I had heard of blogging (you'd have to live in a cave to not know what it is!), but I always thought it was something computer geeks did or something newspaper and business people had to do for their jobs. That is, until a friend of mine decided to set one up for me and gave it to me as a Christmas gift. I thought it was a pretty unique gift and decided to give it a shot, I mean what did I have to lose right? So, I took my first step in learning how to blog. If you are a beginning blogger and want to blog for fun, blog for information, or maybe you'd like to blog for money too - there are a two things you have to know to get started. I used to think you had to be a really good writer to have a blog, but that is just not true, so don't be intimidated. It's easy and fun and once you get started blogging, you'll wonder why you waited so long. So let's get started, First you'll want to know some basic information. Starting Your Blog - The First Thing
Okay, so first: What is a blog? Well, the word blog is actually a shortened version of the phrase "web log". It is literally a log that is kept either for personal reasons (like a journal), or for informative reasons, or for business reasons.You might start out blogging about your personal daily events and then just update it everyday sort of like a diary. This can be the best way to start because anyone can jot down information about their thoughts, opinions, or circumstances.
After awhile, you may decide you want to dedicate your blog to a particular subject like health, or a favorite hobby like scrapbooking, or even your opinions about a subject like fashion. Nothing is too "out there" or too outrageous - anything goes, because people like to read about all kinds of subjects. Your blog could become a source of information or even entertainment for readers.
Starting Your Blog - The Second Thing
Okay, second question: How do I get started blogging? Well, the first thing you need is to set up your blog. If you are just learning how to blog and are a beginning blogger, you will probably want to try one of the following sites:www.Blogger.com

www.LiveJournal.com
These sites make it easy for people who are just starting out blogging. They host the site for you and are free! My favorites are Blogger.com and WordPress.com. Blogger.com is the easiest, they give you simple step-by-step instructions to set up a blog. You will be up and posting your first post your first day. WordPress.com is user friendly as well very popular with bloggers. WordPress has some really great features for your blog and they have a great reputation amongst professional bloggers.
How to Blog - One More Thing!
When the subject of blogging comes up - everyone wants to know, how do you make money with a blog? Well, it's pretty simple - you include ads in your blog and you make sure and get lots of visitors to read your blogs (and see the ads!). Of course, there are little tricks to doing this!
