Spain Travel Lensography - Traveller27(Heidi Brault)

Along with Portugal and Andorra, most of continental Spain forms part of the Iberian Peninsula. To the west of Spain is Portugal, France is to the north and the tiny Principality of Andorra is bordered by both France and Spain. Most of Spain is surrounded by water - the Mediterranean Sea is off of Spain's southeastern and eastern coasts, the Bay of Biscay is to the north and the Strait of Gibraltar as well as the Atlantic Ocean are off Spain's southwestern coast. You can see the northern coast of Africa from either Tarifa or Gibraltar if you are looking across the Strait of Gibraltar.

Spain is a mountainous country, with the Pyrenees forming a natural boundary with France to the north. The Sierra Nevada range spans across southeastern Spain. Gibraltar, a British overseas territory, borders the Spanish town of La Linea de la Concepcion, in the southern region of Andalusia.

Note that Spain also includes the Canary and Balearic Islands. It also includes three enclaves - one being Llivia, a Spanish town that is surrounded by France, and the other two being Ceuta and Melilla, which are both on the northern coast of Africa and surrounded by Morocco.
