Spandau Ballet ~ The New Romantics
Let's take a trip back to the Eighties and remember the music of British New Romantic group, Spandau Ballet - its members being Gary Kemp, Tony Hadley, Steve Norman, John Keeble and Martin Kemp.
From dance tunes to ballads, Spandau Ballet became one of the most popular bands in the UK and Europe and, for a short period of time, their tunes became a staple of US radio stations. This exposure in America gave them four hit singles, but only two reached the Top 30 - True and Gold, both of which had Top two placings in the UK.
In their homeland, the band actually produced twenty Top 50 hits, some of which can be enjoyed in the videos below.

1983: Spandau Ballet - True
"True" is the title cut from the band's most popular album from 1983.
Composed by group leader Gary Kemp, it is a six-minute (in its original album version) slow ballad-like love song that in part pays tribute to the late Motown artist Marvin Gaye and the sound he helped to establish.

omg I am dying over that beach poster! thx for leading me here!
The New Romantics! Spandau Ballet was one of the great groups of the 80's and this is the time where I was growing up and getting hooked up with their songs. Although True, Gold, Through the Barricades & Round and Round are awesome hits, I favored their Journeys to Glory album and all the songs there are my favorites being the 1st track, "To Cut A Long Story Short" is on top of my list! Thanks for the memories or else I might have forgotten how I used to wish I could look like Tony Hadley!
